Agreed - it's so disrespectful to the teams and players involved. I guess it really has turned into a ratings thing.
disrespectful my @r$e - no offence but do you think that during the half time of the England game that Ecuadorian television will be showing highlights of the England game or do you think that they will be reliving the celebration of their nation qualifying for the knockout stages? This is England which means that unfortunately we are subjected to non-stop drivel about the english football team. Its just unfortunate that Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland also get the same coverage as they dont have their own tv station setups at the world cup.

I would bet most nations would concentrate on the nations with "star" players. Brazil, England, Italy, France to be honest. As I said, I think that is disrespectful to the other players in the tournament.

No, most competing nations will concentrate wholly on their own team first - then will show highlights of all other games in later programs. Just like what happens here.

Yes true but I seriously doubt that between say an England Vs Brazil World Cup quarter-final half time segment we would hear about Saudi Arabia's striker's foot. Do you really think that? Of course we wouldn't. So it's our disrespect to the so called "smaller nations".

And do you honestly think that Saudi Arabian TV will be doing a feature on Wayne Rooney's foot - No, because they dont really give a f**k. They are too busy interviewing their hero Sami Al Jaber for scoring his 44th international goal in his 159th appearance in what will be his swansong tournament. They dont care what happens inside the England camp just as most England fans dont care what happens inside the Saudi Arabian camp (I have lived in Saudi Arabia for 5 years and i know full well that they dont care). Thats just the way of the world - everyone is only interested in their own country. Its not being disrespectful, just a patriotic bias............

Yes I agree, but at half time during a game between two other nations? To me it says what they're doing isn't worthy of our attention. You'd think there isn't enough airtime already to show the Ronney stuff at another time! We get an hours build up before the game - tell us then FFS!
As I said I cant see other nations doing that between an England - Brazil game - just wouldn't happen.

The very last hand of the night goes to Dewi James, who finds ACES and talks Raymond O’Mahoney into calling his all-in preflop bet of 15k. “If I had AQ, I’d call!” says Dewi. Raymond calls holding pocket 66’s.

But they do!! Like i said earlier during the half time interval of the England vs T&T game in about 10 minutes it will only be English and T&T television talking about this game during the half time interval. Every other nation will be focusing back on their own nation. True - when we get to the quarter or semi finals when most of the other nations have been eliminated its only then that most nations will focus just on the game itself, but then seeing as how England wont make it that far then they will have no alternative but to do the same

"True - when we get to the quarter or semi finals when most of the other nations have been eliminated its only then that most nations will focus just on the game itself, but then seeing as how England wont make it that far then they will have no alternative but to do the same." Steady on! Only Ecuador to beat!

I have watched the world cup from outside the UK, and i have never seen a half time analysis not mention the game in progress, EVER! And one of those times i was in the USA! The most single minded nation on the planet!
