went to notts last night where my friend and her hubbie both finaled,so a good night in all.on the way home me and said friend were nearly killed as a taxi came at us at 100miles an hour and just missed us before we turned.as we turned the corner a black cat was in the road and we staring at us.i said that cant be a good omen.anyway safely tucked up in bed, when at 5 o clock my husband comes running upstairs and tells me we have been burgled,he found a guy in our kitchen, unfortunatly he couldnt catch him.luckily as he had got disturberd the only thing he left with was my husbands keys.still that means a day of getting all the house locks changed, and the car too.these people are absolute b******s,and i wish my husband had caught them.

WHAT A START TO THE DAY Angry

It was probably best the your Hubby did not catch him, these scum sometimes tend to carry an object of some descript on them and in a panick if caught would not think twice about using it. Mr Nun once chased one out of our home, he was gone for 20 mins, he never caught him as he had no shoes on but was sure he would have got him if he had. It was the longest 20 ins of my life. You can change your lock etc etc.. but hubby...nahhh not worth it..

Be positive and be glad nothing that bad happened. You're all ok, and the burglar didn't have time to clear out your house.

My sympathy to you - my place was done over and it is such a frightening experience and a total violation.  Just wondered if your insurance can help with the cost of changing the locks - the locksmiths invariably charge an absolute fortune knowing that insurance companies often foot the bill. Anyway, glad you are both safe.  Take care.

that's why I don't mind someone beating the shit out of little tykes. If someone rbeaks into my house they're gonna get a beating (happened once...but the guy had actually fallen asleep on my couch and all, he got a rude wake-up call)
The thing is...you can't file charges against them for breaking into your house after you beat the shit out of them as that means they geta  fine and you get sent to jail.

This is why the public has no faith in the justice system any more - the police should be handing out medals to people who beat up/kill burglers, instead of prosecuting them.

I thought your law had been changed now so that you are allowed to use "reasonable force" against someone you find trespassing on your property?

In the jungle death is perfectly acceptable if describing the term "reasonable force"

When living in victoria park in manchester a good few years ago we came back home and disturbed 3 lads rummaging through the living room. You think they would panic and run, not a bit of it, no words were exchanged and they calmly walked passed us on the way out, the last one even smiled. One of the most bizarre experiences of my life.
