going to get a ban for the headbutt surely?
no can do unfortunately (unless they change the rules) - he already got punished for that, with a yellow card - video review panel can only interfere if the referee took no action/missed the incident completely.

and here's hoping ronaldo will be fit eh ?  Cool

No way in this world did that ref see that headbut, if he did, he would have given Figo a double red card.

Since when have they known anything?

The ref had his back to Figo and assumed he pushed Van Bommell. That is the only explanation for it. Like when Scheidjer pushed the Portuguese player in the 2nd half, he was given a yellow card for that.

I think it was the linesman who told the ref that there was a push with Figo, he obviously also missed the headbutt aswell however he got cautioned for the push. Well thats my guess.

If thats the way it went into the report then he could indeed be reprimaned by fifa, however if he was booked for the headbutt (i cant see any ref yellow carding a headbutt!) then there is nowt they can do.

A depleted Portugal side still look better than a shit england team to me though!

Figo's an old man.

I'd almost prefer it if he were banned and Portugal had to play a whipper snapper who runs around the park for 90 minutes.

If that ref has any sense (i know i know!) he'll ask them to review that video of the headbutt.... I'd go with Flushy's reasoning him getting a yellow card and so reviewing the headbutt shouldn't be against there double jeopardy ruling

Figo has been cleared to play against England - rumour has it that Portugal are to appeal against Deco's sending off, though i doubt that one will get anywhere.

That Ivanov is the same joker that reffed the Champion's League final.

Does anyone know if his dad was a Russian linesman in 1966 ?

Two yellow cards cant be apealed against unless its mistaken identity - its an basolute joke that they wont review that 'headbutt'... it was without doubt violet conduct and so a red card... FIFA make the game so much harder than it should be
