This should be a lot of fun, I really hope I get my GOOD buddy Phil at my table at some point! Yesterday I nursed a shorter stack all day, at the dinner break I was down to 6K. The 1st 3 hands after the break I moved all in w/ no callers, the grinder doubled me up later and I had life. I played very tight, I moved all in about 14 times yesterday and I only got 1 call when I had KK vs AK and it held up. I folded 55 a few times, 99 UTG, and even found a way to get past JJ preflop when a very tight player  raised in early position. I think my play was good because I played basic poker! I did not get fancy, passed 4/7 three times

I love playing w/ top players, the grinder kept talking to me trying to get info and I know he didnt want to play pots w/ me later in the day. Hopefully I will give the same effort today and have fun doing it. God bless PH if we hit the same table, I cant wait to get involved in the verbal w/ him!!!!!!!!

Wow sounds great - updater's dream if you do get Mr. H... sorry we can't be there to follow you live right now!  It sounds like you've had the right strategy early on (can you prove you folded JJ  Cheesy     )  Now just go on and win the thing; no getting distracted by the American-style chatters!

I dont know what it is about that woman but her sleeves really irritate me - doesn't she know they are supposed to end at her wrists not halfway down her hand?

Good luck Brian!!!!!

According to the Wire:

Blinds: 1500/3000, 400 ante (?)

Gabriel Thaler doubled through Brian with K-Q os (all-in) calling Brian's 18k late position raise (he had 7-7). Brian had about 70k at the time, so after the smoke cleared he should have been back down to 52k, whilst Gabe was up to 36k.

However, shortly after that, Thaler is noted in the chip counts as having over 60k - so I can only assume that maybe the hit to Brian's stack was bigger than reported... (and Wire doesn't help itself by listing Joe Munro twice in the top 50 and missing out Brian altogether... shocking omission!)

Anyway, Brian seems to have gone out shortly afterwards (47th place, $7309) Sad
