I hope Williams wins it. Last time, I hated all the head grinding and butting Skelton was doing. Hopefully it will go with Williams again

Yea mate, I go for a points finnish as well. It was really tight last time. I think this one will be really close as well. Williams is the heaviest he has ever been for a fight tonight ( over 20 stonne ) , hopefully it won't make him too slow.
The winner is supposed to be getting set up for a World title fight with the 7ft 1 in Russian champ Valuev.
Williams seems like a decent bloke as well. He comes across as a nice fella in his interviews, I hope he does well

lol Of course Bolt. We have had disagreements about topics, but that is part of being a member of a forum. It is healthy to have different opinions about things. It keeps life interesting
Nah, not into taking part in boxing mate, I prefer watching. It's best to pay for a TV licence rather than a boxing club membership
. The Lazy and cowardly option. I let others do it for me
Yea, I have heard that he is out of shape as well. I read it on a boxing forum recently
No hard feelings Bolt

awfull fight.
I wouldn't go so far as to say Williams was pathetic but something went wrong.
undoubtedly skelton fought the better tactical fight.
I noticed everytime Williams went in to punch, he dropped he's head down so as to protect his chin, but he ducks his head so fardown he cant see where hes punching.
from early on skelton put Williams in his pocket and eased to victory.
that being said skelton was nothing special tonight.
neither of these guys could challenge for a decent world title.

Thankfully some justice for Skelton, he won the first fight but was robbed by some dodgy judging.
He out thought Williams and out fought him too, well done.

I just don't get Danny Williams, he just doesn't seem to turn up some nights and he looks really vacant. My girlfriend said he looked really stoned so maybe that was it.
What about Amir Khan? I think he's clearly got a lot of talent but i hope they train him to pull his chin in a bit or he's going to get knocked out ealry doors by the first quality fighter he faces.

Danny Williams has never been more than a journey man who fought somehow managed to secure two big pay days. He is now taking on fights for a little bit of extra cash to secure his future.... over 20! That is way too big.
Khan's speed is unreal and people just can't catch him - the great thing about the weight he fights as is that even if he does get caught by one its not going to knock him out.

Matt Skelton is a cracking fighter (as opposed to boxer). I'd have loved to have seen him Thai Boxing. most of his 'dirty' tactics are unintentional ingrained habits from his martial arts background. when he clinches he can't help hold the back of the head. Danny should be grateful Matt supresses the urge to bring his knee up or slice with the elbow otherwise he'd be unconscious in the first round. The throws through the ropes or to the ground are also legitimate K1 tactics. I doubt he'll hold a world title but he deserves his shot and he's got bottomless bottle.
Danny Williams is frustrating because when he fights to his potential he is top class but sometimes he looks very ordinary.
I touched on this in previous boxing threads. there was 2 stone difference between them but Skelton easily beat Williams. however when there's half a stone difference between welterweight / light welterweight fighters commentators and fans talk as if it's a huge factor. I'm 11st and most of my regular sparing partners are between 14st and 20st. Obviously in martial arts we're training for situations where you can't pick the size of your opponent but a couple of pounds either make no difference in the outcome of a fight inside or outside the ring. same goes for a couple of inches in height.

Anyone else think the ref was too hasty in the Khan fight?

Without a doubt!! Sure he got caught a couple of times (the knock downs were dubious)
But surely boxing is about getting smacked in the head? It was hardly an onslaught!! Wish they'd let these guys fight it out

Agreed, i can understand it when someone is obviously outclassed or offering no defense but this wasn't the case (at the time anyway).
The ref gave the guy a standing count when he tripped over Khan's foot and stopped it when he stumbled (i know Khan caught him but not that well) and jumped straight back up.
