Was i over ambitious with my re raise on the river or was i just trapped ?
i did think about the possibility of the AQ and as i write this and reflect i maybe should have thought a little longer than my 4 seconds to call his raise all in.

1) No raise pre flop as i thought that any kind of raise would result in a fold. At the time.
2) Same reason as above id hit my nuts and just a pre flop call from him a number of different hands that fold to any form of bet on the flop, kind of wanted to extract as many chips as possible. As i look at this more maybe i didnt consider what his check on the flop meant.
3) A bet on the turn was probably the best move and probably where i make the mistake, however if i bet into this pot i either get a re raise all in or a smooth call either way my chips go in on the river . This may just be tiredness or a rooky kind of error , will have a look again in the morning see if i can make any more sense of it.

yeah....i see a lot of people slow playing kings and I don't like it...well not always.

I understand not raising pre flop....but not to do it after the flop with a straightdraw out there? You might have hit your nuts but you didn't have THE nuts and that's what counts..
I always raise to see whether someone is actually holding the flush or straight...you have to ask the question. And you're better off winning a small pot then losing a big one.

looks to me like no information bets at all on the way.

your flat call preflop means he could have anything whereas if he called a raise preflop the possibility of him having AQ are higher.

bet the flop to find out where you are on this type of flop. obviously a king with 2 non scare cards you try to trap but with big straight possibilities you need information. obviously again a pre flop raise wouldve made u more weary of this flop.

as soon as he called my flop bet id be more cautious.probably check the turn or check \ call if he bets hoping i house.

and i defo dont reraise the river but yes i call and pay him off.
