I know I'm only a 'newbee' but I want to ask ANOTHER question... Why do YOU play poker?
My obsesion started by playing with my mates... playing some strange abortion of 5 card draw that got all of us hooked!
I've been playing on - line now for about 4-5 years and in all honesty it's got a bit stale as, apart frome home games, I've never played 'Live'...  My name is Paul Banks, and I am a LIVE VIRGIN!

So the question is, what got YOU started on this strange and wonderful world or cards?

It BEGAN as a yearning to mix with low-lifes, "night people", shady guys, spivs, shysters, semi-gangsters, stay out all night playing cards with wide boys, naughty boys, not wearing a vest 'cos that's cool & well hard.

Seemed glamorous at the time. And so it is.

For the social interaction, the intellectual challenge, the buzz, and the queen's head.

started with the movie / TV image of the game but stay because of the satisfaction of the wins. not just the money but the result itself.

then there's the ambition to get to the top. not everyone care for that but whether its two years or twenty I'll take a big title.

Top one Adam,

My SERIOUS thoughts towards poker started with the first series of late night poker. Some northern bloke covered in gold going by the name 'Devil Fish' made me think that a 'Southern Softie' like myself might have a go  Smiley

LNP seamed to be one of those things that was going to be a 'cult' thing, not earning the producers too much money in the beginning but being the things that everyone talks about thus earning someone a fair few quid down the line. With a lot of these 'cult' shows it's sad that they only seam to become widely popular a long time after they go on air. Twas the first time I saw 'Marina' the other dealer bloke (forget his name) and Thomas Cremsa, Thomas Kremsssahhh, Thomas Kremsaaahhhggg (however Grin)

Is there another series planned, I heard a roumer....

Yeah, LNP was the first time I started looking into the 'NAMES' of poker on the net. Jesse May became an instant talking point amongst us... more than many of the other sporting commentators  Shocked

Banksie, NO, I was NOT taking the proverbial. It was a semi-serious reply, but certainly not a **** take.

And it's Thomas Kremser, lovely Guy, Mrs Marina Kremser (they married in Vegas about 8 weeks ago), & the "other dealer chappie" you refer to is Ian James, who has branched out on his own now, he's a sort of mini Thomas.

Cheers Tikay,

So Thomas and Marina are a couple... cool... I didn't know that. Didn't mean to sound rude but am genuinely interested in how everyone got here... I read your bio and... if it's the right thing to say it's interesting to say the least... very inspiring. Your journey through life seams to have been one of massive downs and ups... it's nice to see you are doing well. Am a genuine poster and was just curious.
