maldini - that post is uncanny as I am going through exactly the same thing at the moment.  I have only made 2 finals since the start of the year live. Whereas last year I couldn't stay out the final ever week!  I have been through it all in my head.  Am i doing anything wrong?  Can bad luck and bad cards last this long?  Shall I change my game? etc etc.

I too took time away from live play partly due to work commitments and partly because I was actually getting depressed.  What I couldn't get out of my head is why luck has to go in such long runs.  Why can't it be more evenly spread  Cheesy  I mean just a couple of weeks between good and bad thats all i ask.  4 tournaments in a row I got busted out in 18th all by getting horrendously outdrawn or unlucky.

Last month I was at Walsall with Tikay and Lucy Rokash starts to talk to us.  She was saying how her form has been so bad lately and there was nothing she could do about it.  I interjected with my sob story of my 6 month bad run and she looked at TIkay and then laughed at me.  She proceeded to tell me that 6 months was not a bad run.  Try 1 or 2 years of bad form!!

I though will not accept this.  I just think the most important factor is to stay focused and positive and know that things WILL turn around.  You can't force it and the more you try and mess about in pots and get impatient, the more you put undue stress on yourself.  Keep playing your game and the breaks will go your way eventually.  Hope this helps that you are not alone and it happens to the best all the time.

I'm in terrific form live...26 finals in 36 comps in 8 weeks but Online is so so at best.

Completely stumped as to how to get both to work simultaneously

Live in the midst of a bad run...I would cut out a lot of moves and concentrate on value betting and having the goods.....it may be that your games are too predictable or without realising it low confidence is giving off something to your opponents...take it right back to basics for a couple of tournaments

Play the £5 rebuy on a Friday at walsall, you may not win it (damn near impossible) but it will restore your self confidence being around all the truly aweful play Cheesy

I started a similar thread to this some time ago. Bad runs , Live/internet getting them BOTH working at the same time.

It is strange how many pro's I have spoken to who have the same issues with live/internet. I just think it is one of those things.

Dont worry about it, as long as one is going good - start to worry when BOTH of them go bad.
