Im planning on buying straight into the main event (with the help of some backers) and have my flights and accommadation sorted. Could someone tell me the bet way of buying in advance, my plan was to use my credit card online to buy in but i cant seem to do this. I could change $10 000 on the credit card and get dollars but then i would have to carry these dollars over to vegas, which might be tricky. Please help as i need to sort it today hopefully!!!

American express travelers cheques from whoever is doing the best rate.

I often find a place called "cheque centre" beats every bank's conversion rate GBP->USD by a BIG margin and travelers cheques are no extra cost and guaranteed if lost/stolen on your way from UK -> Rio, Vegas.

Is that better than travelling with american $ travellers cheques dale?  ie do they offer a better rate of exchange british banks for pounds to dollars.  Where is the cheque centre?

Yeah you can buy straight in through pokerstars- they even give u 9 free nights accomodation at the rio if you agree to wear their gear. Though if you can afford to buy straight in then this might not matter,

but you can choose not to wear their gear and still register through them-it just means you dont get the accomodation. Probably the best way to avoid paying over the top conversion rates or having to worry about customs officials wondering why you have $10k in cash and strapping the old rubber gloves on

I believe that you need to be at least platinum or supernova level VIP to be able to buy into the ME directly through stars.
But if you\'re only a silver star you can buy in directly for some, select, TV covered wsop events in the $1000-$2500 buyin level.

Doing this you\'d just by up a load of W$ at like 87% then use them to buyin through stars.

And you can buy in using FPPs as well 700K for main event. Which would be around $50K in rake contributed to get those FPPs.



As far as withdrawing ££££ from your bank and taking it over to cheque centre to get it turned into USD $$$$$ travelers cheques. You\'re likely getting a better exchange rate than you would from using your UK based credit card in the states, they are rarely generous when it comes to giving you anything close to market rate.

These american express travelers cheques can be cashed at any casino cage.





I\'m about to open a second bank account in USD currency with bank of scotland.

What with playing online and hopefuly being in vegas 4 times a year it seems a good thing to do.

Just now I\'m screwed everytime i ship from neteller to bank account
and screwed because I have a fat gangster roll of 100$ notes that would be much safer in a bank (no point in me depositing USD to my GBP bank account then withdrawing them as USB a few months later, I\'d get screwed TWICE with the conversion rate)
