Late night excitement!

Well what a fun hour... I was just playing some omaha and finished up.
So going to my account i refresh as i needed to withrdraw to get money for wsop.
Well a little shocked as it appears i have been playing in my sleep as my balance had increased by roughly $25 000.
I know i won a bit playing omaha but surely not that much... i speak to a few people, what do i do. rooky9 leave it... see what happens. me the same to be honest. Kev cash it all out and run off to gretna green with me and get married... I did honestly think a couple of times about this option.
So anyway, no baron so i decide cash out the money i needed for wsop then see what guy says.
HE SAYS NOTHING, He removes bars so i can withdraw to neteller. So he waits with me while i do that. I am thinking surely he can see something is up??? What do i do... I have finished my withdrawals, and am saying bye etc. He says i think there could be a problem with your account... DAM he spotted it lol. your blonde bonus was £13 710 instead of £13.71!!!
I thank blonde and its supporters for this kind gesture and i am glad no body knew it was a $25k bounty on my head the other night!!!!
Well that was all fun an games, account looks decimated now lol!
WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN YOU SEE THIS OUT THE BLUE>>>>

LOL Ian
VC once done something similar to me, but not quite on that scale - it was the "bubble" WSOP package that they credited to my account twice!!
Also, I may of had a different outcome

A serious piece of advice though to anyone reading this thread, if anything like this happens to you when you visit the cashpoint and you notice that your account is suddenly £10000 better off - DO NOT TAKE OUT AND SPEND THE MONEY.
All the stories you hear like "Well it was the banks mistake so you should be able to keep the money" are rubbish. If the bank realize their mistake and you cannot pay the money back you can get prosecuted for theft. Even if the bank don't realize their mistake straight away they usually do in time (they should do the amount of overpaid accountants they have at each branch!
).
You are allowed to keep any interest that the money accrues during this time while it is in your account - and you can usually try and claim a little compensation for the "trauma" your bank has put you through but just dont spend their mistake!!

I've had this happen to me twice with my bank. Once they opened a US Dollar account for me in my name and sent me statements with about $10k in them, and the other, they just stuck about a grand in my current account.
I was obviously delighted at first but after realising there is no such thing as a free lunch, I mentioned it to the bank and they said these things happen from time to time and corrected the errors.
They always find out, which is actually pretty good. If someone at the bank lost my money and stuck it in someone elses account I'd want it sorted asap.

I once worked for 2 days at a hotel near ipswich and then left to work at a rival hotel nearby. When i left they came to check the accomadation they provided was ok, the manager handed me a brown envelope for the 2 days work i had done. This should have amounted to about £140, when opening it later i was most please to find nearly £2000, 2 months pay instead of 2 days. Had a nice holiday that year.

Never had that happen to me yet but I certainly wouldn't tell the bank. I would attempt to transfer the money to a different account as soon as possible (preferably with high interest) and wait to see what happens. Of course it is likely that they will finally notice but then you can just drag your feet somewhat and keep racking up the interest. Hell it takes me long enough to through to someone capable at the bank they can chase after me for once!
