ok, i'm still not really getting omaha and i realise raising with aa pre flop early on can get you in all sorts of trouble. but surely i can't fold aaj9 here, and surely he can't call my reraise with a733 and then have the cheek to win. £1 in the bad beat box for me... i'm having my first losing month of the year and just want to get it off my chest

You did nothing wrong, and keep the faith we have played many times before (now i know who tcleaner is!!) and you are a good player, results follow good play.

I don't mean to cause up a stink here..but Idon't really mind his call pre-flop.

Sure you have the pocket aces and the 9-j suited. but he also has a pocket pair (albeit small) and a nut flush possibility. I personally quite like seeing a flop with a hand like that. Although in a cash game he ofcourse never would have called your pre-flop bet. In tournament play I quite like it.

you did nothing wrong though but, like you said. reraising pocket aces...(especially without a nutflush draw) will get you into all sorts of bother in Omaha.

If you get it in preflop its fine.

Agreed in a deeper game you really are in a tought spot on most flops.

There's a saying, something like - "with AAxx you're a favourite against any other non- AA hand in Omaha, preflop"-  but albeit probably only a slight favourite (e.g. 55% or so) rather than the monster 80%+ favourite that AA is against any other hand in Hold'Em.

So getting it all-in preflop is definitely the right move, but you also have to realise that there's no way he's going to pass for almost 3-1 odds, so you're just going to have to accept that you have the better end of a coinflip prospect and sweat it out.

I haven't got any advice on this as I'm an omaha novice. Thought I'd just say that you are 63.09% to win this hand. Not great odds, but you're ahead.
