You're is a an abbreviation of you are. It is perhaps this word you're looking for.

The apostrophe ( ' ) serves to substitute for the omission of the letter a in you are.

Similar apostrophes are used in that's (substituting for i, meaning that is)
they're (they are)
what's (what is)
they've (they have - substituting for more than one letter here)
etc..

I'm off to hang myself. I promised myself I wouldn't (would not) mention this. It got too much though, I had to give.

I have tried to work this out before tank, but I can't.   What is your background before playing poker for a job, were you into some kind of writing( journalist,etc) or was it engineering/science.  In one thread you mentioned something about Newton and somebody called you a journalist the other day.   I am just a curious and nosey bugger  Cheesy
