Board =

Just under 2k in the pot.

Greenleaf bets 500.

Carlo dwells and then calls the 500.

Mateyboy next door also calls.

Greenleaf reveals the fourth Ace to take the pot.

Steve Walmsley is up to 18k.

"The table has freed up now JP's left," he claimed. "I couldn't make any moves with JP and Chubbs behind me"

Womble then went on to eliminate Mateyboy with A-K v A-Q on an Ace high flop.

A few well timed steals later and he's up to the healthy figure of 18k.

Not bad considering the average is still only 13,500

They're breaking the second table of the night, which must mean more knockouts (and it's not even dinner yet.  Mmmm, dinner)

I know at least a couple of those:  Jules 'Hartwith' Adamson just left with a shrug and a resigned "Shocker."  I think that was more to do with a big pot he lost right before being moved the final time, though.

Also eliminated:  Stuart Hill, Jeff Kimber, Jason Simpson - who left saying, "I wasted £3 on this tourney...." apparently having qualified via a $5 satellite on bluesquare.

This has to be the biggest hand of the night.

Richard Ashby and John Falconer have just been eliminated by Paul King who is now on 34 thousand.

Flop = 7-rag-rag (2 hearts)

All the chips fly in.

Ashby has the nut flush draw, Burnely John has Pocket Queens and King is sitting on a set of Sevens.

The Sevens hold up and Paul King scoops a massive pot.

Trevor Reardon is OUT after running a flopped set of Queens into a flopped set of Kings.

Flop =

1.5k in the pot, just Jim Reid and Vik Kanwar remaining, the latter with just 4.1k in front of him.

Jim Reid (button) bets 4.1k, effectively putting Vik (Big Blind) all-in.

After the lenghiest of Citrone-esque dwells, Vik makes the call with .

Jim Reid shows and it's all doom and gloom for Vik, or so he thought...

Turn =

River =

Split pot.

The blinds have just gone up to 150/300 with an average stack of 14,500

There're 66 players remaining, which suggests that they're dropping pretty rapidly. That's almost a third of the field gone already.

It looks like Arshad 'mad m3' is our chip leader with just over 40k.

Phil Cooklin takes a crushing blow with against Terry Fletcher's - 7k changes hands and doubles the latter up while taking the former down to a precariously short stack.

Barry Neville announces, "40 large."  We'll do a tie-break count in the dinner break...

Stand back Arshad, there's a new man on campus, and he's just broken the 50k mark.

Play folds round to the Sid Harris who makes up the small blind.

Matthew Ansell, in the big blind, bets out, and Sid calls.

Flop = Two Clubs

Sid bets, Ansell raises, Sid calls.

Turn =

All the chips go hurtling in.

Ansell reveals

Sid turns over

River =

All the chips go to Sid Harris who is taking an age to stack up what looks like a massive 52k.

Meanwhile, Ansell has a right cob on and Alli Mallu turns over an Ace from the burn cards, which probably didn't make Ansell feel too much better.

He's still in though, but struggling slighty with 1,850.

Ash Hussain is yoyoing a bit today, but still managing to hover around the 35-40k mark.

He's just taken down a several k pot with Pocket Rockets against Jim Reid's K-Q off on a 5-6-K-T-K board.

Barry Neville has taken a hit, losing 7.5k in the process.

He flopped a staight (J-9) on an 8-T-Q all clubs flop, but Mateyboy rivered a King High flush (K-Q) to take the pot away from Barry.
