Hi guys. Only played online tournaments and didn't feel starting a new thread with this question was sensible as I'm guessing it has been asked before... we'll see.
Anyway, does freezeout in real poker tournaments refer to the fact that no rebuys can be bought?
Is nottingham any good? I'm in nottinghamshire so would be the only choise really .. i'm a university student with no car so closest is better.
Any replies would be appreciated.

Yup freezout means no buyins - once you have paid to enter the tournament, you get your starting chips and thats it. Nottingham is a very lively card room with very good turnout and lots of beginners start there. You'll enjoy it a lot.

Hi Stoo, welcome fella.
Notts any good? Thats a matter of opinion, but I think so.
You are a Uni Stident? I went down last night, there must hasve been 20 Uni Students there. In fact, in the early stages, I had a "newbie" either side of me, & they thoroughly enjoyed themselves
Later, I befriended two Chinese guys, one's name was Twan, the other Voo. We get chatting, & they sat & sweated me right through the comp. There was anorher chinese guy in the group, & a Chinese young lady, stunningly pretty as it happened. We got chatting during the buffet break, & they were all Students at Notts. Reading, as I recall, Financial Accounting, Financial Services, Business Studies, & Engineering. They were great fun. The Comp restarted, and the 4 of them sat behind me, & we became well pally. Sadly, due to some earlier rowdiness, Gala decided to move the Final to the upstairs room, & the four of them were not allowed to come up & spectate.
So, as they say, "come on down" & have a bit of fun. If I am there, say Hi, I am a youngish looking mid-thirties, usually wearing a black blondepoker shirt.
