A few years ago I went to Tenerife, while I was there I came upon a long queue of people with suitcases standing in a side street, curious by nature, I stood and watched for a while, then a small door in a wall opened and a man with two suitcases came out, and the next man in line took his suitcases in

I stopped one of the blokes coming out and asked what was going on, "Oh, he replied, we?re just getting some fags" Now I was a smoker at the time, and I knew you could buy cheap fags in Spain, so I went through the door. I couldn?t believe it, there were packets of fags as far as the eye could see, every brand you could think of, and I mean millions and millions of packets.

I asked how much my brand cost, if I bought a couple of hundred packets, they worked out at about 40 pence a pack, they were about £2.50 back home. "But is it legal," I asked "to take all those cigarettes back to the UK,? I was told it was ok as long as they were for my own use, the people waiting outside told me the same thing, and it was all done in plain view in broad daylight.

The next day, I joined the queue with my suitcases, filled them with fags and that was that, until I arrived at HM Customs, "Would you mind opening your cases sir, my, that IS a lot of cigarettes, what do you intend to do with those?"

I was terrified; let me tell you, the sound of that rubber glove being snapped on will live with me forever, what an ordeal.

I could not convince them that the cigarettes were for my own personal use, (I found out later that they were having a crackdown that week and had drafted in a taskforce) My fags were confiscated, as were my suitcases, I was held for 8 hours in a cell, then I had to go to court and I was sentenced to 100 hours working in Oxfam. (I kid you not) I think the magistrate knew I wasn?t really a smuggler, but It could have been much worse

If you are thinking of bringing ANYTHING through customs that you shouldn?t, DONT!

It really isn?t worth it.

I agree with Tom here. I was threatened with "the latex glove treatment" once, for a minor, & unintended, Customs problem.

Never, never EVER, again. The world's best deterrent.......latex gloves.

I had a big medical once, an all day job, the lot. "How's your prostate" he askd. My WHAT?, I thought. OK I think, I replied. We ought to check it, says the white coated Doc. OK I say.

Get on your knees, doggy style, says he. Do WHAT? I'm in a dressing gown. I do as I'm told, feeling rather stupid. He lifts my drerssing gown, and says "this won't hurt much - well, not for very long". THEN I heard the latex gloves being snapped on. "I just remembered, I had it tested last week, I say, hastily standing up........

In answer to stoo, I was thinking about the Mizuno Mx 17's or maybe a set of Taylor Made RAC OS II I havent decided yet though and Im still not sure about a new driver. I will go on a testing mission once I get back from vegas

Nice card room there too, they had excellent comps on during the world series, although i think that was a type of festival, so im not sure what the  regular comps are like.

We stayed at the orleans, very good poker games, and if you get sick of bottled beer they have an irish pub in there where ya can get a pint

Have a fantastic time there, but remember the safety rules... STAY ON THE STRIP !!! do not get tempted into straying after dark.

If you get a chance you must visit the gamblers store which is downtown, it is a real experience, you could stay in there for ages.. if you can think of anything gambling related that they dont stock i will be amazed. Also you must visit binions, thats a proper casino, the atmosphere in there is unreal, its so unlike all the plastic places on the strip.

best way to get thru HM customs is to shave your head like a squaddie and carry a squaddies grip with you, never once got stopped and i always had more than the legal limit in duty free

Completely off the point of real golf but have you played tiger woods pga 2005?

Certainly have, love the game! Nice control system, nice courses, decent soundtrack.  Im doing this on friday night, its exactly the same as Tiger Woods but you have to play it for 'real' and its located right next door to the Broadway Casino (check it out peeps)

nice one wall now this is where we need to have a blonde outing, golf without the walk then next door for some poker, followed by a trip to tha lapdancers.
