Well even though we had the World Cup this summer there is really nothing like putting your shirt on and heading off to watch your team. I even took to going to watch one of my mates teams play a couple of times! I am actually really looking forward to today, I can only make half the games before Christmas and will miss most of the run in too, so the games I'm going to are going to be even better!

Anybody else off to watch any football today?

Prediction: Newcastle 3 Wigan 0
(think we have won one of our last 8 openers, but think today should make it 2 of 9!)

How are we going to score 3 when we only have Ameobi up front?

Fancy a draw in that one.  Get your cash on Blackburn today to soften the blow of not taking 3 points.

Glad to see a precident being set for the start of a new seasons - it appears as though you can be awarded a penalty for being within 2 feet of an opponent in the box without actually touching him..

Either that or the ref is a liverpool fan.................

You never know we might scrape a 1-0 defeat, but I am going for 4-0 at the bookies.

Scored one, created the other. Ameobi takes a lot of stick and is never going to get the goals like Shearer, but, if he carries on as he has done under Roeder is warrents his place in a top 7 side - if we want anything more than being a top 7 side then we do need another first choice pair and use him in rotation.

Edit: Forgot about Michael Owen! Mido would be good with him, not sure about Shola nad Mido as a combination thou!

I'm blaming the rain for my prediction beingf wrong!

Charles N'Zogbia is going to be a big big thing in football, I'm talking top three in the world sort of class - wonder how long he will be with us then!

Have you asked for the Bolton game to be replayed then ?  Wink

LOL I wondered how long it would be .....

still fair play Ralph, Drawing with Villa in the very first game of the season in a brand spanking new stadium is a result for you ... I mean look at all the new faces that M.O'Neill has brought in to strengthen a team that were in freefall last season ... Oh no hang on .... that was the same shower that O'Leary assembled ...

Congrats on your point Smiley
