Ok i just went out to the car and just on the side of my path there is a small hole filled with wasps, it's obviously a nest and there are hundreds of the bleedin things!!
I AM TERRIFIED OF WASPS!!
I had a bad experience with a wasps nest when i was a kid and now i am just a gibbering wreck when i see one and if they fly near me i do my best psycho, arm swinging, running in circles, screaming like a banshee routine.
The council want £50 to get rid of them but I AIN'T PAYING THEM A FLIPPIN PENNY MORE THAN I ALREADY AM through council tax etc.
Looks like i'll be staying locked in the house for a few months.........
I can survive on dial a pizza and downloaded films i reckon

probably best if you go out there and jam a stick down the whole and shake it about a bit, they like a bit of peace and quiet so will probably just fly off somewhere a little more peaceful. Let us know how you get on. thanks

Bad time of year for wasps. they're drunk and angry. I'd pay the £50.

LOL that'll do the job
I don't like them either. My Dad got stung by a wasp the other day. I can't remember the last time one got me. It would probably have been when I was in school at a guess.

That was the reason for my bad experience as a kid, i ain't that gullible anymore!
Maybe i could get Julian to come and do it for me?

I'd pay the money...is there not a local pest control man in the Yellow pages who is cheaper
Last summer I was palying with my boys in a Country Park and the then 9 year old chases the football into the bushes and stands on a wasps nest
He has many stings so I think "what do i do here?" Took him straight to casualty just in case (he looked faint) and they counted nineteen stings, gave him some cream and some anti histamine tablets and sent him home
His mum was not best pleased!

I'd pay the money too.
I cannot stand wasps. In the last 8 years I've had three nests in two different houses.

Can't you get some stuff from Homebase or somewhere like that that will kill em off or move em on?

Yes. Also, fire can do the trick.
Do they sell flame throwers in Homebase?

You're a bad man Booder
Think a look at yellow pages to find a cheaper quote than the council would be the best bet..... The expanding foam/poison idea isn't bad either though - do it at night while they're sleeping.
