All i know of this player is that he has laid down top pair to me previously (he was right to as i had an overpair), i hadnt seen him use this minimum raise so didnt have any information as to what he could have had?. My image is very tight!! I had only played 3 hands - KK JJ 10 10. And won them all, although none of them were shown. So, what would you do here?

standard fold
even more so that he hasn't got out of line and your read on him is tight..,. aaaaaand his read on you will be "tight".....
just give him credit for what he's representing by trippling your reraise (AA / KK) and fold.

His range of hands form the way you describe it is AA/AK/KK
I fold and only take this gamble later

Tough one. Its a big lay down to make.
I seem to have difficulty putting players on AA/KK in this situation, and thats probably why I seem to come off worse when I pick up hands like this.
He could have AA/KK as Dale says he could also have AK/AQ/AJ/JJ.
I think in this situation probably call and see a flop. If there is no A or K then I put him all in. If he has Aces or Kings good luck to him. Also u still have enough chips at this table to make a go at although I think my ultimate decision would depend on my position overall in the tourney.

Some one else i just spoke to has said exact same about seeing a flop - i dont think this is an option IMO, but respect what you and him are saying - we either get it all in pre or we dont get any more pennies in.
As it happened i folded - tough to do ! lol. And then this came up a few hands later..............

This one is easy - insta fold!! I just never get lucky with Jacks at all.

Its not whether i can get lucky with em! Its more a case of what i put him on here.... Where he has limped from, there was a caller before him too so what does that mean??? etc etc

Bandit you crack me up
At this point I am wondering if I made a mistake with the QQ and considering calling here..thinking AK... and I have 1800 behind if I am wrong
No one likes to be seen as a target, this might have to be factored into your thinking now he has done it a second time
The first one was a raise from EP which you raised and he then re-reraised
This one is much more difficult to put him on a hand here...I think I might call against his range of which might include AK/AQ/1010/99 now he is targetting you

Bandit you crack me up
In all seriousness Tighty - this is a hand that just causes me pain.
I have been pumped out of 3 live tourneys in the last 4 holding the dastarrdly cards, twice I was ahead both pre flop and on the flop but found on one occasion a nutter who thought his As
was good one board of td
and when i push he called and spiked the
And online, jesus it seems every time I pick this up I get into trouble some times I have made a bad decision on the info I had on the players but most times I come up against nutters who can't lay down middle pairs andseem to make a set every time.
When I have a holding like JJ I console myself that one in eight should hit trips - never happens for me!!

Nice post tighty, my particular thoughts on this situation were that he, as you said, was targeting me more now as he new i could pass a hand. My main concern was, why would he limp in Mid pos , not only that, but there was a limper before him here too.. surely with AQ,AK,AA,KK or QQ he would put in some sort of raise here?? My thoughts were that he had a PP, between 66-99. And this read, combined with the fact i would still have just under 2000 left to work with i called. He turned over 44, and i hit a J on the flop anyway! Currently 5/23 as a reward at the moment.

This is unfortunate, however, not really much of a reason to fold them preflop even if you think you are winning!! Lol.
