Morning Guys and Gals,

Thought I would just put an update for my evening last night (hope no one minds).

I have decided that for the time being with the little one sleeping right throught the night (yes, I know we are very lucky) that the computer at home isn't gonna get much use because a) it makes loads of racket and 2) this racket then wakes the little one up .
So I have decided to try and play live a little bit more and see how I get on at that. I have only played live twice before, with my virginity being broken in Brighton (finished 4th in a £30 rebuy- and no jokes pls to the virgin/brighton comment) and a cash game in the new card room that has opened near me (Lakenheath).

So off I go to the Gym last night to pump some iron (look at norkage really), and for a swim in preperation for the poker. Gym goes well but nearly kill myself on the olympic bar when a 20 something ukrainian does the splits whilst warming up. Geezers.

So off I go, and turn up to find only 4 people their - I thought Thursdays was supposed to be busy!!!!. Well obviously they had heard that a fish had arrived because within 10 minutes their was 2 tables running. The game was 1/2 pot limit holdem, with pretty much a £4 straddle every hand. I sat down with £160 and was sat to the right of  a chinese gentlemen who pretty much already stated that poker was a pure luck game, and no skill was involved (just what you like to hear), as well as 4 americans. I have to say 1 of these americans went by the name of Stretch, and his nickname isn't that hard to fathom as he was easily 7ft tall. He was a monster. I am 6ft 4''  but he made me look like Mini-Me out of Austin Powers. He was huge!!!!

So off we go and I have a pretty solid start, bluff a few (alot) and work my stack up. Then I lose abit, then win a bit (you get the picture). Sorry to Mr Thew but I actually nicknamed myself Yoyo due to my ever changing stack size.

After missing flops for an hour I have probably decimated my stack by half and am sat their with £80 I believe. I raise from the button with  and get one caller. Flop comes Ace, Rag, Rag (all Clubs). He bets the pot which was normal for him regardless of hand. I think for a good few minutes and push straightover the top hoping a fold, but in fairness a call is fine as I think I am ahead. In my opinion he can only call with a flush, trips,or possibly 2 pair. He calls instantly. I am thinking, Boy I am in trouble. That is until he turns over the monster  , . So he has just called a all in with no hand, and a queen high club draw. I just didn't see how he could call this to be honest, but knew after he called what the outcome would be. River bought the Club and I was off to buy more chips.

I buy back in for £100 and decide this is the last money I am willing to spend tonight. Tighten up a touch and work myself back up to £150/£160 when I get dealt  . Now during the time I paid for more chips, a new gentlemen joined the table. He was a very nice guy who owned the local kebab place, but obviously liked a gamble as he sat down with a monster stack, £500 I think. He flat called my raise and we see a flop.  , rag spade, rag spade. Now I aint being funny but this is pretty much a superb flop for me and I have to assume I am way ahead. I bet the pot, and he comes straight back over the top. What can he have. Big pocket pair are unlikely, but not out the question. Possibly a small pocket pair and he has hit trips, but surely he flat calls my bet, and raises the turn/river. I end up flat calling the raise to see the turn where I can then decide if I still like my hand. Turn comes Jack, giving me 2 pair. I check and he bets the pot. Now I have to put some thought into this. I know in the back of my mind that I am pretty much pot commited as I think I had £80 left and there was double that in the pot, or I can fold weakly and can fight another day. I figure he may well have trips, but as long as its not Jacks/Tens then I have a alot of outs. 2Jacks/2Tens for the House, or a spade for the flush. I call and we have a near £340 pot I turn over my cards fully knowing that I am behind.

He turns over  , Rag for 2 pair.I AM AHEAD. He flopped 2 pair, but I outdrew him on the turn.  He only has 2 bloody outs, please Mr Poker God don't river me, pleaseeeee. No miracle, and I double up. Am shaking as this is the biggest pot I have ever won playing live and tip the dealer a decent amount for giving me that Jack on the turn. Thankyou Mr Dealer.

5/6 Hands later and this new chap is steaming. He can't win a pot and I took a huge dent out of his stack so he is thouroughy pissed.

Now this is where I need some advice. The crucial pot of the night.

I am dealt  in the bb and call the steaming guys raise. Flop comes down
I put a pot sized bet in the middle, as I can pretty much guarantee he will come over the top regardless of hand, which is what I want. He of course does this instantly, and I reraise the pot after some thought. He instantly reraises me pretty much all in .We were playing 2/4 at this point hence the big pots.

Now what do I do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can I call this bet.

What do you think

I have to put in the whole of my stack now. I could win a monster £700 pot, but on the other hand I could be going home with my tail between my legs, £260 lighter for the night..

Do you call

I'll post what happens later

You flopped a monster. you play suited connectors and end up with a straight and a flush draw....this is an easy all in for me. you have soo many outs that the all in is well worth it. The guy is steaming so might even only have Ace high...he could ofcourse have a better flush draw then yours and be betting that but when you play suited connectors this is pretty much what you hope for IMO.

so All in and I hope you took the pot down.

If your opponent turned over Jack-rag then surely you are infront all the way with Jack-Ten on a Ten-rag-rag flop?

The amazing dissapearing/reapearing post trick a? Cheesy

Well of course several posts a day are posted on incorrect boards, so of course the mods move the posts into areas where they are meant to be and where they stand the chance of getting the best response. With a PM to the poster concerned if they are new-ish and unlikely to see their thread has been moved

I wouldn't have thought there should be a  problem with this?

However just for you I'll leave this post here.

I dont understand why you are 3-betting it if you dont really wanna get your stack in.. but you can either:

a) call because you like making money

b) collect your handbag, hitch up your skirt so it doesn't get caught on your high-heels, and then leave the casino in shame

It's 2/4, you've got 340 ish. There's been a riase preflop. on the flop you've bet pot followed by him raising , followed by you betting pot again. Realistically, you're never folding here, as you are never a big dog and you've already put a lot of your money into the pot.

Even against AKh about the worst hand you can be against, you're about 31%, set of kings with a heart, youre about 40%, As you're a 52% favourite. AKd 56% favourite

There's lots of money in the pot already, you'll be getting 2-1 ish at least (probably more like 3 or 4-1) and you'll often be a favourite here. Call super quick!!

Hope you called and you won!
