I will say I have heard great things about the Broadway and will try it for myself soonand look forward to meeting you dik9. I like your intrest in the game and was praising your attempts at introducing alternates to the GB.

  Finally God Bless the competition.

Hit a Brickwall there, but still trying!

Dik9, just wondering what the capacity is going to be for your festival? I believe it is 80 at the moment. Are you going to use other part of the casino if required

I thought there was a truce its getting nasty in here.

HEHEHEHEHE.

There is plenty of players for you boys to fight over.

I know what u mean about location Dik9. For years the good old never changing management in Blackpool have been warned about anywhere opening in Manchester could rip the heart out of the card room. Lo and behold. Finally it has happened. All be it only on one night. WHat is there response?Huh?Huh?Huh?Huh??? A chnage of schedule to take them on. All well and good. When asked about reg fees or food or something extra for the players to fight against the reg free and free food they get in Manchester. Stony Silence.

The management( and myself a teeny weeny bit) sat on their laurels as no one could touch us. Not so now. I pray for them to challenge us directly on another night. Then perhaps management will start to listen to the people that know the players and give us some leeway.

and hence why walsall has been so successful in previous years, due to the fact that the management have been 100% supportive, as i imagine they are at the broadway. this i feel is cruciial to securing a top status in poker players minds, even if at times you leave it late to see someone elses approach or fail to heed warnings. the fact that both willingness to make changes .

At the end of the day the players will be the real winners here as long as the quest to attract the most doesnt get too silly and become about 1up manship

The card room capacity itself will be 110 from Friday (perminantly). But we have another area that may be used for a cardroom but not in this mini festival. All depends how successful it will be!

I dont know why, but some casinos see poker players as a pain in the arse (mind you I could agree with them about some  Wink ) but I have witnessed some casinos when they have had no poker available and they are like ghost towns.
Getting an extra 70  - 100 players through those doors is valuable to the casinos ,as they only need a small % to play the house games.
So Bluewolf, dont ever think the poker players will be the only ones to benefit, trust me, casinos need poker players.

Some Casinos need poker players. But still the majority treat u like shit.

Numbers through the door. That is it. Which is fine you all get a place to play poker. And get some good prize money generated.

Yes you are right casinos that have poker players will benefit. Not the staff who have to organise them. They will still get paid a pittance no matter how many players there are. 30 or 130 I will get the same. Making every night packed to the rafters will not do me any good. Now that may make me sound like i dont want too many players in. And I'm just there too get my money, which I suppose is how I feel sometimes.

I want Blackpool to be THE PLACE to play cards in the UK. That is why I originally went in2 the card room. Anybody in the casino industry will tell you. Don't go into the card room it's professional suicide. Lots of work Little reward. No future. No promotion in it.

So yes apart from the bean counters who piss you all off, and me as well, only the poker players will profit from a little card room war.
