thumb curry...almost

i was chopping up some chicken thighs earlier this evening & somehow thought it a good idea to swing the heavy knife through the air which managed to catch my thumb right on the joint midflight....i thought it probably won't have cut me until i remembered that it had been recently sharpened & then spotted the dripping blood...
i left it under the tap for 10 mins which didn't seem to achieve very much, followed by 20 mins swabbing with kitchen towels & now its wrapped up in a comedy style bandage.
the thought of an evening in an A+E waiting room when i could be eating curry was just too much to bear so we'll see how it feels in the morning.
the good news is that my raising hand is still in tip top shape

Now I'm worried. I wondered why that porridge you made for me this morning had ketchup in it.....

But it was rather nice, & after a somewhat tiring few days, it went down a treat - thanks Big Man. The Thewster can cook real good!

They use those in our local Chinese, they say they taste rubbery

Once upon a time in a previous life, I was working as a kitchen porter at a very posh reatuarant in Leeds. It was a quiet night and the head chef, Chris, was messing about with a big fork of the type used when carving roast meat. He was flipping it up over and over, very quickly, displaying an impressive degree of dexterity. As impressed as I was by this I could not help mentioning that the feat would be even more impressive if performed with the big f*** off knife that was lying on the chopping board. Not one to shirk a challenge Chris picked up the knife and flipped it up. Of course the weight and balance of the knife was significantly different to the fork, it landed blade down square across his palm. The blood drained from Chris's face, travelled down through his arm and distributed itself evenly all over the kitchen.

Chris came it work a couple of days later to help the sous chef get organised for what would be a prolonged period in charge of the kitchen. He had spent several hours in surgery having ligaments stiched together. He was sporting a very elaborate brace type arrangement, with strings running from the tip of each finger to a tight wristband, in a way designed to prevent him from opening his hand beyond a kind of semi-clench.

Chris eventually made a full recovery and life took us in different directions. He was a diamond bloke and I still feel guilty when I remember the words; 'I bet you wouldn't do it with that.'

Actually, my local supermarket in fact used to do boneless chicken thighs, and they were very reasonably priced, and INDEED brilliant for curries...

I'm trying to picture these Chickens walking about without thigh bones. Do they fall over a lot?

thigh meat is the tastiest & yes mine were of the boneless variety (tx boo),
the incision still weeps but i have assured the boy that it won't fall off.
