I'm surprised you guys arn#t more upbeat about Scotland in this campaign.

Didn't Walter Smith used to manage Celtic?

Ok, spoon is down. Apologies fir that comment.

I just love to love my national side. I don't see realism as having any place on the terraces.

A journey of a thousand miles begins with, well 6 points.

Yes, we're probably gonna get humped by the big boys, but I'm hoping we put in a good showing, cover the spread.

Plus in my heart, I still believe. Roll Eyes

Believe me lads this is an absolute banker. I guarantee a Scotland win. The Lithuania result in Italy was a freak result. It was Italy's 1st game in front of there fans since the world cup, there was a real party atmosphere and the Italians took there eye off the ball. Scotland are in great form and are now becoming a force in international football yet again under the guidance of the great Walter Smith.
i hate youre name mate, but i bow to youre football knowledge

Can't be that bad m8. We drew with the world champions Italy at Hampden and we also had excellent away wins at Norway and Slovenia so there has been a definate turn around and for u to say we're pish shows u obviously don't watch Scotland games or u just know nothing about football.

aw come on...selective memory...what was the home result against norway...and slovenia....did we not draw with them at home, we also got beaten against austria at hampden...

and here is our last few results

Scotland 5 - 1 Bulgaria
Thursday May 11 2006 11:15
Scotland 1 - 3 Switzerland
Wednesday Mar 01 2006 08:00
Scotland 1 - 1 United States
Saturday Nov 12 2005 04:00
Scotland 0 - 1 Belarus
Saturday Oct 08 2005 03:00
Scotland 1 - 1 Italy

since when did we celebrate draws at home..

if you reckon we are progressing how many points will we take against ukraine, france and italy..and then see what the bookies say

A bit selective there yourself patman  Wink, and the results at home v Norway and Slovenia were under the old regime.

I don't think you can deny the fact we are progressing, we have no chance of qualifying from the group but then we do have the world cup finalists in there.  We are at least competitive and capable of beating the dross which was beyond us in the past few years.

In my experience, Scotland have always performed best when everyone writes their chances off as non-existant.

There's no easy way to get in the history books, but the pages have got be filled by someone.

i dont mind nostalgia or even positivity(and i kinda admire tanks enthusiasm, but heck hes a dandy don Cheesy).
....bazza i just did a random selection thats why i included the bulgaria on holiday kirin cup team...just to show the results over a period
but we have beaten nobody of any significance at all in a competetive game since when?? any takers

norway dont count for me...so i am lost as to resurgance of scotland....where is it...berti vogts was dire  admitted.

but under wattie(a journeyman manager) we are now just organised dross....no more no less.

i would love a great national side but i am not prepared to spout tosh about us being any good or resurgant..i cant celebrate mediocrity...not when you are reared on success domestically

i` am positive in the sense that i am realisitc Cheesy

Any team would struggle to beat Norway away so that was a fantastic result as was the win at Slovenia and the excellent draw against Italy a game which we deserved to win. Great to see the way the team is playing now it's been a fantastic turnaround since Berti's departure and it's all down to 1 man WALTER SMITH who in my opinion will go on to become the the greatest Scotland manager ever.

The 11 on the park probably deserve the first round of lollypops to be fair.

As much as I'd love to, I'm finding it a little harder to agree with you.
