Thats interesting,  I would like to hear your reasons for not supporting your national team if you are a football fan ... not being flippant, would genuinely like to know.

yep all down to religion in glasgow

why do people outside the old firm always use that as an excuse?

That might be true for some old firm fans, but not me.

I also know a certain forum poster, who is a celtic fan and also a proddy! (so where does the religion come in there??

precisely.

It's all down to pretending that you are irish. And that is what Celtic fans do best. Likewise, many Rangers fans will support the crown and thus England. Unless they happen to be in the company of an Englishman that is, then it becomes okay to hate them Cheesy

Lovely poem Henrik, at least I imagine it is. Can you translate it nto the Queen's English please so we can all enjoy it?

I note young jbsc769 has gone very quiet this week. How did his team get on?

Some very broad & inaccurate stereotyping there Mikky.

Fair play to the ones in Green, White and ORANGE  Kiss here for not getting involved but, I feel i need to respond to this one (and naughty of you for keep danlging the carrot Ironside!).

I would say that not even 20% or Rangers fans support England. I would however say that most Rangers Fans (in fact, lets broaden this to 'British Football Fans') want the British Teams, Northern Ireland, Wales, Scotland and England, to do well. I would also say that most fans on the other side of this arguement support ROI?

Regarding religion, yes, I am Protestant and I would guess that a large amount of Celtic fans are Catholic but, we have made no issue of this. Given a straight choice between going to Church on Sunday and going to Ibrox, I would take the latter every time. As I have said before, it is always people on the outside that bring this up. Rod, Dave, Teacake, RFC, Myself etc (sorry if I missed people out) dont make an issue of it why does everyone else. YES, I do sing the songs inside the ground (at least used to before I came out here) but I believe that adds to a great atmosphere at these matches (widely acknowledged as the best in the world). Once the match is over, no probelms at all. I would love to meet these gys and have a beer no problem. I dont have a nasty bone in my body (which I hope anyone who knows me will agree with).

Reminds me of a sign I once saw in a shop window with the opening times on......

Printed sign in black, written (by shop keeper) text in red:

OPENING HOURS

Monday       9     TO     5
Tuesday      9     TO     5
Wednesday 9     TO      5
Thursday    9      TO     5
Friday         9     TO     5
Saturday     9     TO    5
Sunday    Gone   TO   Church
