Live freezeout

Hero has 13k, just above average

Villian from Far East called Pham has just moved to your table, chip leader with 30k, and is button to hero's BB

blinds 300-600, way off the money

Hero on button with

Raises to 1800

SB and BB call

flop

SB checks

Villian long dwell and checks

Hero checks, read is Villain had a piece of it

Turn

check check, Hero bets 3,000 into 3,600 pot leaving himself 8,000+

SB folds

Villian declares "I call, pair of tens" and exposes his cards

He then says "Oh no, I thought it was the end of the hand"

ruling is hand is live but he is held to make no action on the river

He has

River is  giving him two pair counterfeiting hero's hand

He is held to check

Should hero check or bet?

I check.  I don't think he folds here to any bet.

8,000 chips, 300/600 blinds.  You've got time to play still.

is this a trick question Huh?

i check - if he calls with 2nd pair i doubt he will fold when he hits 2 even though it opens more possible straight possibilities on river.

I would say..."Well, atleast this way you get out cheap when hitting your two pair" or something similar and stick them in.

ah just read your unsophisticated post.... if he really is then I would check..

BTW he didn't muck his hand?

Shouldn't exposed hands be declared dead?

the current ruling in most places I play is that the hand is live but the player who exposes cannot bet or raise, only call or pass to further action

really?...I expect the hand to be mucked. especially if it's a multi way pot...I don't care if you found quads on the flop you are out.

I have been in two occasions like this, the 1st was simlar where a guy was , or so i thought, all in for a pot of 3k, so i called the all in flicked over my cards to which matey boy lol and showed me his single remaining 100 chip..My hand was declared dead and he took the pot.

2nd was when I flicked over my hand by mistake and these circumstances stood.

Moved from lunacy to virtually unplayable and back again with regualrity. The trick was guessing which hand he was which

It's tempting to bet, but don't bother, with these fields it's too high a risk for such an infrequent gain.
