Yep, Ballantyne took a shine to the guy which is RARE. Dropped him sharpish tho when he saw the guy was swayed with such ease. Richard Farley looks like a class act.

I agree not doing his homework on the dragons could cost him. Bannatyne is tough to work with but would really have made it work.I am so glad he went with the others as I don't think when they look deeper that they will persue this, whereas Bannatyne has a lot of cross promotional benefits that the others do not and would have really ran with this.
I welcome the competition, pokerinthepub will surpass them within the next month so any publicity in this area is good news for us....news on the regional finals will be up within the next 2 weeks

I think he did amazingly there. Good on him.

personally i would not have invested a penny, not sure they understand the poker market but saw a stepping stone.

really? maybe it was the editing but I thought he did a very poor job. they only signed up to it after he mentioned 27.5% commision...which (they will soon find out) won't actually be 27.5%.
Internet ads also aren't as effective as people seem to think they are...not for this sort of stuff anyways...I expect that ones due diligence is done (which they still need to do) they will pull out.

And Ballantyne was soo obviously the way to go it's almost offensive that he didn't pick him. (which is exactly what Ballantyne thought) He actually cares about poker aswell which makes it much better to have someone like him on board.

Goodluck to anyone who dares to start something up but I reckon this will be a no go.

You may have misunderstood. I think it's a poor investment and i think they were swayed by a chance to get on the poker band wagon but don't realise that it was just basically an affiliate link that anyone can put up anywhere and get the same deal.

I think the pitcher did very well to get any money is what i was saying.

I'm often down the pub and if I put up a web page with 2 affiliate links do you think they'd give me £130K?

I think the fact his site had received 50,000 hits had a lot to do with it. I know nowt about the significance of this figure but I remember one of the Dragons saying it was a big number.

I was hoping the two 'golf' guys would unfold their arms. They kept smiling and saying 'no problem' but their body language was way off, reminded me of a couple of 'bouncers' the dragons were never gonna get by. Also felt REALLY sorry for the blonde woman who's partner was a serious liability (the 'construction industry' pitch).

p.s. Note on spelling which I got completely wrong: Duncan Bannatyne and Richard Farleigh (just encase you wanna read up on their background. The clip on Deborah Meaden on the bbc website states she comes from a family of entrepreneurs so for me there's no edge to her, she's just carrying on with family tradition. I like the stories behind the others.)

I noticed they've got over 100,000 hits now - even if they didn't get any money they would have benefited from just being on the show.

I loved that.

"Every time we try to advise you, you get all defensive and shake your head and tut"

Said as the woman shook her head and tutted.

She desrved what she got if you ask me. When her liability of a partner was corpsing at the beginning of her pitch, she did nothing to help out. She could at least have been ready to jump in an keep things ticking along while her partner regained composure, but no, she just stood there grinning like an idiot, saying nothing.
