I am assuming this is a final table situation and as you said winner takes all....hmmm I'd be tempted to call here. and assume it's a race with you 60-40 fav.

Winner takes all though, i interpret as "Loser takes nothing".

And if you call with the 10 10, then you could easily be up against a higher pair, or usually against 2 higher cards.

And if he has higher cards, then you are only a marginal favourite to win.

(Edited, becuase i admit i made a mistake and thought, because his username different to his blonde name, that he was up against 2 people)

Yeah, but if it is a freeroll satellite to a bigger tournament or a 10k buyin to a winner takes all SNG your decision should be different. IMO

yes, compared to normal tournaments where losers still get something, and are rewarded for being tight by moving up the payladder

When its winner take all, there is no pay ladder, its just a leap of faith from zero to hero, so typically people will be a bit more adventurous in their standards as they need to win every chip on the table to get anything from the tourney. You are gonna find it hard to do that if you dont take a risk sometime, especially with the blinds this high. This applies to your opponents as well, which is why (imo) calling with TT here is pretty routine.

possibly....but we cant always live in fear of the nuts!

or usually against 2 higher cards.

which would be alrite, given that the pot is laying you odds. Theres also the non insignificant chance that they have an under pair, and given that a high % of people will move in this spot with most pocket pairs, 4 pairs bigger then us and 8 pairs smaller then us makes it likely we will be a 4/1 fav rather then a 4/1 dog

?

You may be up against 1 or 2 opponents, if he goes all in, the initial raiser may call.

He is she

My way of thinking was along the lines of totalise.  Only when I lost I doubted if my call was correct, but thinking back I would do it the same in the winner takes all scenario.
