I just loaded onto tribeca (i haven't played there in aaaaaaages) and i thought i'd play a few heads up matches to get used to the software and build my bankroll etc. I noticed that i couldn't see my opponent's hands when they called my river bets (when they mucked obviously, suckers hee hee). So i chatted with the manager and he said that if my opponent mucks his cards it is because he does not wish me to see them. Fair enough, but i thought the rules said that if i want to see his cards i may do so and allowing people to muck was etiquette and not a ruling.

So, is it a hard and fast rule that if i want to see my oppo's cards i may do so and if this is the case, pls can blonde put pressure on tribeca to change their software.

It's in the options part where you can 'muck losing hands'.Your opponent has checked this option and I think it's the same for all Tribeca sites

Rules vary from casino to casino and the same applies online. They vary from cardroom to cardroom. Tribeca doesn't operate with this rule.

It would be good to have a standard set of rules which casinos follow, and cardrooms. But thats for another thread Smiley And hey, its their ball and they can shape it how they want as long as the punters keep playing.

Nooooooooo

Keep it how it is! This is one of the things that makes tribeca better, people can't get a read on your game as fast.

Just because a rule exists, doesn't mean a cardroom has correctly implemented it.  For example, try putting in the fourth raise in a NL game at Party Poker.  (Well... perhaps they have fixed it by now... but for ages you couldn't do it.)
