Not a monster laydown as such, but anyway an interesting story:
Middle stages of a £20 rebuy tournament, I have a 8 8 in the hole, late position. Blinds at 300/600, with pocket 8is. I raise another 2000, making it 2600 to go. Fold around to early, who re-raises me all-in, and then throws his pocket
on the table before I have a chance to act.
In my mind, I think, okay easy fold. But the dealer says his hand is now dead, its over the line etc etc. And instantly I agree
as do other members of the table. cardroom manager comes over and gives the guy the benefit of the doubt, saying I can call if I want to
I fold, but the dealer does the flop anyway to the annoyance of the cardroom manager (which was kinda the point
) I wouldn't have hit

I was going to say that the smaller the stakes the worse people act, but then I rember that the Tuesday £10 er seems to be the friendliest tourny played there. Poker playing can bring the worst out in people. As I busted out on Sunday the guy who wins the pot gave me a particularly nasty verbal rub down as I was getting up. Luckily I'm not the sort who would get involved in a screaming session. If he had said it to some of the other "characters" in there I guess we would still be discussing the punch up.

Agree Red, the "Notts Rubdowns" are appalling, what happened to getting it quietly, with a bit of decorum?

well, i couldn't admit to being at it now! -
on another subject, how on earth did you get away with that bluff last night? - 6 limpers and you conveniently find a hand in the BB that matches exactly with the flop? and for an amount that also conveniently is approximately the same as the full pot size raise.
Everyone knows your an at-it merchant and time after time they let you get away with it!
now, come on tikay what did you have? or were you just errrr.... experimenting?
i thought that excat same thing junior!

I know its not geographically correct, but as you were on a boat, is it safe to say you went "All in on the river"

The best laydown I ever saw was at this years WSOP in Vegas. Phil Lack v Johnny heads up at the end of some 2500 player Hold'em event of some sort playing tet a tet for the bracelet
Johnny makes a bet and the Laak boy moves all-in.
Johnny gives him the stare down, the tension mounts, and the Unibomber can't handle it
So he stands up, drops to the ground, does himself two press ups and then turns over
and lays down on his back

As long as it wasn't All-In, then the Flop

I think my best laydown was the following hand at a home game - as it happened a bad call would have won me the pot!
Patrick (big blind) : A6
Blinds 100:200
Kevin (cut-off) - Raises to 500
Angie (button) - Calls
Matt (small blind) - Calls
Patrick (big blind) - Calls
Flop - A 6 2
Matt - Checks
Patrick - Checks
Kevin - Bets
Angie - Folds
Matt - Calls
Patrick - Raises
Kevin - Calls
Matt - Re-raises all-in
Patrick - Folds (putting Matt on 22)
Kevin - Calls
Kevin : AQ
Matt : 22
Turn - 6 (Wish I?d made a bad call!)
River - x

matt had 22 with a 266 on the board making a full house while you would have had just trip
