Wow! Things can really get out of hand in the playground. Threats in PM!? What a sad reflection on todays society.

I feel that Marty should have been suspended first like what happened to Scottish Dave. He has been treated like Franchise/King William whos only intention was to come on to this forum and insult/berate other members.
Its your train set though, and this may be putting my head above the sandbags, but you cant have one rule for one and another for another when it is regards to this same subject.
Maybe so Nem, maybe so.
I think, broadly, you know the facts now.
Fact is, he did the wrong thing at the wrong time.....
I started a thread. "Look Guys, never mind what we usually do, enough is enough, let's cool it, or else". So he decides to argue, there & then. I've sat next to the gentleman in a Poker comp - a week or two back - & we get on fine, & I hope we still will. But we have a Duty of Care to all the blondes to keep this place just so. And we will, no matter what. If I get some stick, so be it. I got a shed-load on the APAT thread, much of it quite personal really, so that's nothing new to me. Cometh the hour, I'll do what I have to, I ain't as soft as some might think, when push comes to shove. I'm sorry if the fella was in the wrong place at the wrong time, but he can read, & the "cool it" warning was there for all to see. In effect, he said "I dare you". Everybody needs to think about others, not just themselves. The rest of blonde (well, most of) find all this stuff tiresome, they don't come here to read all that nonsense, threats & stuff.
And I DID make the point about how un-necessarily time-consuming all this is for the Mods. Their position needs some consideration, too, & it's selfish not to worry about them as well. Tighty received a PM in this matter which was well arsey. Did Tighty deserve that, for doing his unpaid job?? He & the other Mods deserve my protection, just as the blondes deserve protection.
It played itself.
I appreciate your Post, which I see as an attempt to see fair play by all, & to all. I think we've done our best.
Take care now.

Well I wish you well too, but Posts like this, & the people that make them, will never be welcome on blonde. This is your Post, as you Posted it.
"step up big boy and say it my face - you aint got the balls to send me the private message with ur own alias if fear of being found out..your racist remarks mean nothing if you cant say it to my face ...you weak fuck....."
"Wrong Forum" is the thread title, & it sums up our views. blonde just ain't that sort of Forum.
A Mod made the decision to impose the Ban, & I have to support that action, I'm not gonna ask the Mods to do & job & then over-rule them.
I think that Post I've quoted is just horrible, & I don't ever want to see that sort of thing on blonde.
blonde apart, I wish you well.

I think the point that: "its not for the forum" is the most pertinent one made.
I dont know the post to which the guy was responding but if a post was made implying that he was racist, and further more the poster done it via an alias, then i can see what precipitated the aforementioned pm and can sympathise with it a little.
I feel sorry for everyone involded, and agree that whether or not justified its probably not for a forum

All noted bolt, but the Post I quoted was a Post made on the open Forum, not a PM.
As you say, I think, "not here".....!

That's the plan, Nem, thats the plan. We just don't need or want this nonsense here. Other fora lap it up. They are very welcome, but we are not accepting it here. Ever, from anyone.

In all fairness, the other person involved should (has?) be banned. Creating an alias specfically for the baiting of other members and for insulting is below the standard I wouild expect of blondeites. Im sure the mods have this in hand though.
Its a dsisappointing affair.

the other person made a post, his first post, that was particularly vile. The mods removed it and banned him immediately
the post referred to quoted above by tikay ("step up big boy")was in response to this deleted post
the ban was not because of anything said in a PM but because of what that post beginning "step up big boy" said.

TBH TE. I don't want to discuss it any further. A decision has been made and it is irrelevant what I think about it.

I understand the thinking behind there being no set 'rules' on the forum, but I really think the time has come for some 'guidelines' with there being so many active members now. There are many things that Tikay and others have, very rightly, said are not welcome on the forum - sectarianism being at the forefront at the moment, but also racism, flaming etc.
Having one clear post on the topic of what isn't acceptable, and what the resulting measures should the guidelines be breached would, in my opinion, help to avoid too many problems in the future. I would imagine it would also make the moderators' jobs that bit easier as they would be able to draw attention to the guidelines if people were overstepping the mark.
just a thought.

When the mods were first introduced, we spent many many hours drawing up and debating guidelines.
they were never made public purely because there would always be something that wasnt covered, and you would always get someone quoting our own guidelines back at us saying "it didnt say that i couldnt do that" in your guidelines.
As such, it was decided that we should use the only guideline that would work, common sense.
We have just put together a welcome PM that is sent to all new members part of which I have copied below.
