Think about it, do you really think cordless phones effect it?

I've seen it happen myself and had to move the router to get it to work. Only once though, so it's not that common.

It's some phones, not all. Some use different parts of the spectrum (900MHz, 5GHz) and some that are in the 2.4Ghz bit of the spectrum will use different channels and not affect the wireless network.

This article is a bit better I think:

It is very unintelliegent to just say "rubbish" to someone's post without further offering a justification or explanation for the reason you disagree.

Why is it so unbelievable that cordless phones could interfere with a wireless network?  Do you have even a basic understanding of how either of these devices works?

IFM actually has a point, it is VERY rare that they are going to interfere with a wireless network. Of course it will happen on the odd occasion but only in the same way that your Hoover may interfer with your TV.

Hello, nice to see you are up to your usual tricks, obviously my grammar and spelling were correct.

I would have thought routers follow the norm in these things where the manufacturers know that radio2 is on 88-91FM and mobile phones have their own bandwidth as do cordless phones etc.
For that reason i would also ASSUME that routers will have their own frequency range so as to avoid conflicts.
My cordless phone is next to my router but my phone is BT approved, maybe that is the key?
As for the unintelligence of the "rubbish" comment, well i couldn't think of anything better, i hope Bongo understands Cheesy

I think that, on this occasion, your assumption was wrong.  I didn't claim that cordless phones ALWAYS interefere with wireless networks, I just meant that it is SOMETIMES possible.  See above for links to articles and anecdotal evidence from other posters.

You surely agree, however, that posts that literally only say "Rubbish" aren't very helpful or informative... it would be better to say "I work in the telecommunications industry and you are talking rubbish" etc, so at least we can gauge your level of expertise.  A forum is a medium for discussion; but discussion cannot occur when you grunt out one-word retorts.

As you yourself rarely add to any discussion i bow to your superior understanding of forum ettiquette.
