Olazabal and Monty have kissed and made up.
Not sure about Woosie but IMO the captain makes little difference to the desire and spirit, we always wanna spank the yanks (and aussies) and i really do feel that is the biggest factor in recent years. Added to the fact that some of their rookies got in early on and form has been a problem for them for the last few months i believe it will be Europe lifting the trophy again. Weather forecasts are not good either, one report i heard today was the back end of a hurricaine will be hitting Ireland and Scotland at the weekend.

Sometimes you have to suffer a little bit in your youth to motivate yourself to succeed in later life. Do you think if Bill Gates got laid in high school, do you think there'd be a Microsoft? Of course not.

I'm resisting the temptation to bet, but I am tempted by Europe to be leading after day 1 - even money near enough. First two days are always Europes, it's the Sunday singles we traditionally get in bother with.

The only thing that I think is in the USA's favour is that Europe has the worst captain ever.
Never have I seen a captain less suited to the job in terms of communication and man-mangement ability.
100% agree. I fancy the yanks to sneak it

I've had a small wager on Westwood @13.5(12.5/1) to be the top Euro points scorer, for a few reasons.
1) He's coming into some decent form. 2) He's a wildcard so Woosie will hopefully play him a lot(a large factor in this kind of bet) 3) I really fancied Harrington for this until I saw that he's been paired with McGinley(who has been really struggling lately) in practice.

every five minutes I change my mind about who I think will win this.
It all comes down to how the rookies perform for the US. If they can stand the pressure, then I think they will win it.
PS - Woosnam is a complete fanny

I'll be concentrating mainly on the Valero Texas Open as there is no value in betting on the ryder cup. Shopped around and got best each-way prices on Bart Bryant, Joe Ogilvie, Charley Hoffman and Deisuke Marayama. This tournament will live long in the memory as it wasn't long after i had started betting on Golf that i picked Tommy Armour III each way for this tournament in 2003 at 400/1, he won it shooting a record low 72-hole score on the PGA tour and despite starting the final round some 6 or 7 shots clear, i still had a friend text me updates from Sky's coverage as i had gone to play the final event at the Grosvenor Salford's festival (before they went self-deal) and made the final table of the £50 rebuy - one of only two results that appear on my database on the hendon mob's site!! Won £310 playing poker and over £5k on the golf

I kinda think woosie will be a good captain but he is clearly on edge over the last few weeks in regards to dealing with the press. He seems very tense and mumbling alot.
