Hi all

I would just like to echo the positive comments of everyone who played in the event. I went out 24th early on day two but that didn't put to much of a dampner on the experience. I would like to say what a pleasure it was to be sat next to Trevor from Cornwall for most of the first day and well done to him on 9th place.

I run a small annual charity event at my hotel in Cheltenham and if anyone is interested in playing in the next one in March 07 please head over to www.pokerwannabe.co.uk and join the mailing list

Thanks and well done to the APAT team for a brilliant event and in particular to Des who made exiting from the tournament that little bit easier to take with his words of comiseration and of course the free t-shirt lol

Cheers

Just got round to reading this. Sweet!

To all the APAT Members who have joined blonde, thank you, & welcome.

I think it's now safe to say we all had a spiffing weekend. That's what we promised, and that's what we delivered, but it takes two to tango, & it was only possible because the APAT Members made it so.

Thank you.

We've had a debrief today, as scheduled, to see what we can do better.

Our biggest regret was that, for Event One, demand far outstripped seat availability. That was a real shame, but we've learned from it, & have devised options to overcome this for future Events. To those who could not get  seat, we are sorry.

Any other issues will be decided by Member feedback. But I never heard any grumbles from a soul at the Event, & that's most encouraging.

I think we got lucky with the sort of players who signed up to APAT - "recreational" was spot on. To many of them, it was their first casino experience. We did a little "Live Poker Teach-In" pre-comp, & that helped.

We also introduced several initiatives, all designed to be player-friendly. & they seemed to work. That's good for the Members, good for the Casinos (more players), & good for Poker, for we truly put our Members first, & tried to make them feel wanted.

I can't tell you how happy I am today. I truly believe we have put something into Tournament Poker, & if it all ended tomorrow, they can't take that away from us. It's not been pleasant coping with all the doubters & sniping, much of it un-necessarily aggressive, so it's easy to see why Tournament Poker has not moved forward, & the players have not been offered a better deal. We have laid down a marker now - a decent structured £75 Tourney that included an EPT seat & Package worth over $8,000 & plenty more besides, & we have 6 more Events scheduled in Season One, all with the same added value.

We still have in mind a Pro-Am series, but that will be next year, God willing. And we will only do it if, once again, we can bring serious added value. Don't bet against it.

I must also thank all my colleagues in APAT, they have stood strong throughtout the storm. Thanks also to our sponsors, PokerStars & Poker Player, who helped make it possible.

I am as proud as Punch.
