Thank you for your email.ks for the caring words Ironside, lol. And for the record, The PokerStars Staff tourney is a monthly event.

I gathered it was a loose-ish table, found AA so decided 7xBB was appropriate, had 2 callers, something like a K77 flop, cant remember the exact order but basically raised was rerasied and they went in. He had 76. Nice. Whilst no excuse, I also had to be meeting friends about 25 minutes later so it was never going to be a long run. The event before I was last as well, the event before I won. No middle ground, lol.

I knew I should have not played poker, lol. Unfortuately the thread about me stopping playing poker was lost in the change of forum.....

Just the day before I saw my Late Night Poker Experience on the TV. Just as painful watching it live, the good thing is they said I played it well and was very unlucky. Likewsie with my exit hand.

The good think about 5th out of 12th is that is not a final position is it Dave?  Kiss

The thread about jbsc's Late Night Poker experience got lost, I'm sorry to say.

Simon - jbsc - took an ugly beat, you could see the wind knocked out of him, but gave a lovely interview afterwards, "losing with dignity" personified. A true blondeite, whom we are proud of.

i gotta say some of Simon Trumpers comments were.......err strange.
he said Simon had to call the allin with trip 10's cuz he had so many outs, the thing is Simon couldn't possibly have known a club was an out so it wasn't as cut and dried.
You could tell from Simon's (Cook)  reaction that the straight was what he feared and i assume if he were convinced the other fella had it it would have been a fold (contrary to Mr Trumpers advice).
It was dreadfully unlucky and one of those situations that rarely happens when it's almost impossible to fold.
Next time sir.

It was an awful one, and you could just see Simon "deflate" - he kinda KNEW what was gonna be turned over.

I did say in the interview (that wasnt actually shown) I put him on AK after the 250 bet on the flop. My decsion was, a reraise or flat call. I decided he was 16% at best and I would take one extra card and then move in. Unfortunately that 16% shot came in. When he bet out 250 I had to make a reraise in case my read was wrong and to find out where I was. The re reraise pretty much confirmed AK. At this point I had to decide if my flush draw was good. By his all in I suspected it probably was. If he had a free rolling nut flush draw and a made nut staright, he would not have re re raised my bet, he had nothing to gain, only lose. So, the call in the end was fairly easy, I just wanted to think things through before making my play.

Thanks for the kind words Tikay, I didnt see the thread about the show before.
