I am fighting urges to lecture my still smoking friends like an annoying twat.
I have to really try hard not to do this in the future!!
p.s does this post mean you are out of the 15k guara too?

I feel like Bill Hicks would regard me as a traitor.
Bill gave them up as well, so you're OK. (of course he got a non-smoking related cancer after giving up
- God's got a BAD sense of humour).
Good luck keeping off the cigs, you'll need to learn to for next April when smoking at the table/inside the casino will be banned - no point going deep in a tourney if all you can think of is your cravings.

Day 5
My lungs are still hacking up the detritus that's been lining my lungs.
I feel I'm successfully cracking my cigarette addiction habit. Now I'm working on kicking my nicotine gum habit.
Phase one kicked in today.
First off, while out in town, bought a large pack of extra chewing gum, which I put in the same pocket as my nicotine gum.
As my brain sent messages requesting nicotine gum, i said "Ok....no problem....just getting it" and reached in to get one, but actually pulled out an extra and shoved it in my mouth.
So far, so good. I'm fooling the stupid grey lump. FIngers crossed!

So far, I've saved £10.86 not buying fags.
Going to spend it all on crisps, I sudenly love crisps.
Doesn't combine too good with the coughing. I keep having to wipe soggy morsels of potatoe pulp off my monitor. Nasty

You lot are doing great, remember the main nicotine pangs are in the first 5 days, they aren't painful (they don't even wake you up) just mentally annoying. Each time you get one, just remind yourself that it's trying to wheel you back in and you are happy that your free of it. It'll cheer you up if you remind yourself that you've quit smoking for the rest of your life. It's great to feel that way early on.
Well done!
I've saved around £165 so far :-) Putting £5.50 away each day... Not saving for anything in particular, just saving to see how big the pile gets. The bigger it gets the more annoyed I am that I used to burn it.
Might as well have gambled it away, even that's better than burning it.

That's a good idea, gives you more of an incentive to not buy a disgusting packet of ciggies and instead save for something decent. I'd do that if I was a smoker.

Towards the end of Day 2:
Kept busy today again. Been aware of not eating to fill the "void." This works fine during the day but at night - wow. I have ate the following since 5pm.
BigMac Meal
2 carrots (attempt to not eat sweets)
Half carton of cranberry juice
2 glasses of orange juice
1 flake
1 Topic
3 handfuls of walnuts
a packet of marmite crisps
a packet of niknaks
Beef and Brocoli Stir Fry
10 Strawberries
1 Apple.
Oh dear writing everything down has produced a longer list than I thought. But hey, good news is on the horizon. I may end up looking like the back end of a bus but I will be a healthier and happier bus back end.
Seriously, this eating is filling the craving void I think. I do believe that a few days in this will settle down and I will just stick to the fruit parts of my list.
mmmmm banana's
