Just a quick update i've had alot of issues to deal with of late and the book had remained unread. Last night i actually started to read it, got about a 3rd of the way through and am determined to finish it with in good time now i've started.
"a lot of issues". Smoking does not help resolve those issues, or make you feel better. Smoke the fag, the issue is still there. I'm not being flippant mate, & I know it's been tough for you. Give up the ciggies NOW & you'll have had something positive to start the year.
Good Luck fella, you can do it.

Is it 95 days? Wow, the Century looms! So for me, that's 95 days @ 3 packets per day - 95 x £15 - a lot of money....and even more alarming, that's 5,700 ciggies.....!

I just cant understand why so many people still smoke (especially nowadays)
I am a science in health, exercise and sport post-graduate so if there are any smokers looking for a debate i will hae one and give u a hundred reasons not to smoke.
I'll give u 60 reasons now and they are- each of the 60 reasons is a different carcinogen (cancer causing substance) found ina cigarette.
Very well done to all the quitters. I can understand how bloody hard it must have/is been/being!!!

Well, I finally stopped smoking for the second time last Friday. Saturday was a real pain (I ended up going for a 5 mile walk
) Sunday, my Cousin came round (she's a smoker) I didn't even have a pang and she smoked in front of me. I ended up giving her the
EASYWAY
book, as she is studying to become a fitness instructor...
Since Sunday, I've had the odd couple of pangs, but chewing gum (Wrigleys Extra) tastes so much better than Benson & Hedges!
No more headaches, no more pain in my legs, no more pains in my hands, no more bad breath.
It's great to be a non-smoker again!
HOLLA!

You smoking was like the local pastor mugging Grannies, just wrong wrong on many many levels.
The world is back to normal now, good luck with drive 2.

A couple of years ago they made the cardroom at Luton non smoking and being the tight git that I am I refused to give anyone an edge by missing hands by going for a smoke.......but what to do. I knew all the reasons in the world for not smoking. Reasons and non smokers arguments will not help you give up they just make you reach for another smoke. Ask any smoker whether they smoke more on national no smoking day or not and I know what the answer will be.
In the end I opted for hypnotherapy.
Not had one since.
PS. Not suggesting this route for all.........just saying it worked for me and involved no will power what so ever and I have no problem in recommending the chap who did the therapy though he is based in London...........I have however started clucking like a chicken whenever I get aces for some reason

The blanket ban on smoking in all places of work up here was a huge pain in the arse, but it did make things twice as easy when it came to quitting time.
I think it kicks in around June for yous lot?

That's the way to go, it won't be long before you are free.
Positive attitude, remembering why you quit and reminding yourself that you are losing nothing, it's all GAIN, GAIN, GAIN. It's great to be free, I've made several overpayments to my mortgage, have a smoke free house as my partner quit last week too, can breath a lot easier, feel a lot fitter and don't feel like a slave to the weed. I reached 4 months without a cig on the 10/01/07
Last cigarette on 09/09/06, feels brilliant. Time goes by quickly, but from very early in my quit I realised I would never smoke again. That was one of the best feelings in the world. A natural high. When you realise that you won't smoke again, you will experience that high also.

Good man, that just one cigarette rule still holds regardless of how long you have been quit for.

It sure does. I started agin after smoking 3 cigarettes one evening. I didnt then smoke for over a weeek, I then started smoking 1 a-day, the 2 a-day and then 10-2- a-day.
So sick that trap is, and the patches, gum's and inhalers are just as bad, as they are allowed to advertise on TV!

Dunno how I could have missed this post for so long!!!
My smoking has been bugging me for ages, been wanting to quit for a while but not quite in the right frame of mind. I tried once before and it was hell, so I'm seriously impressed with everybody on here. So much so infact.....F*ck it.... it's time to do it myself.
Just ordered the Allen Carr book, hope to join your bandwagon very soon.
