Just spent twenty minutes on hold to a stupid mobile phone company (seperate rant available) only to get through and the voice bit on our handset didn't bloody work so she couldn't hear me
Twenty minutes down the drain. Call back - "your position in the queue is 10"
I was only 8 to start with last time.
I'll give it an hour.

They can't be as bad as Sky!!!!!
I have just moved house, and rang to cancel my agreement at my old address and start again at my new one. They then tell me I owe £250. I ask for a breakdown and they can't give it too me. I ask for a supervisor with some brains to call me back (I wasn't very happy at this point). She does but then cuts me off mid conversation. I wait 2 hours for her to call me back. She doesn't. I call back and am put on hold for 30 minutes. The young lad is helpful and says he will get his supervisor to call me back. Next day comes and goes, supervisor has still not called. I call again today and am told by the young lady that I do owe the money regardless of what I say because the computer says so, and am told unless I pay I will not be able to credit anywhere else(cheeky biatch).I then made a mistake and told her to stick her computer up her grumpy, wrinkly ass and put the phone down.!!!!!!
Question 1 - Do you think I will be called back!!!
Question 2 _ Do I call them or just leave it until I hear something!!!!!!!

probably - but they'll probably put a stop on the account first so that you wont be able to watch tv until the problem is resolved.

You must call them. Don't leave it for them to contact you because it will take them months and in the mean tiime you'll probably accrue lots of charges. It's a pain when you are stuck in the middle. As annoying as it is, try and sort it yourself.

how long have you had sky for? if you have had the last box you recieved for less then 12 months they charge you the full price for the box (for a standard one about 120£) that might be a big part of the bill.
and sky are a massive pain in the arse...

they sure are - at the moment they actually owe me in the region of about £500. They had been overcharging me an extra £35 per month. They said I didnt have the boxes plugged into the wall - I know I did. They then realised that they had the wrong address and telephone number for me, because "i didnt inform them I was moving"
"If I didnt inform you I was moving, how come you sent someone to put the dish up at my new address ?"
<<silence>>
i have written to them telling them they have 28 days to pay up, or I will put the matter in the hands of a debt collection agency, which may affect their ability to get credit in the future....

hahaha...and the brilliant thing is....if they would pay you they wouldn't automatically send you a check but credit your account.....so you'll still have problems getting the dosh from them even after they "gave" you your money back...

I made another call to Sky and after being on hold for another 18 minutes was put through too probably the most unhelpful person their. After 15 minutes of her telling me I am wrong and sky is right and their is nothing I can do about it(her words not mine), my call was terminated for bad language. I am very sorry for swearing but I cannot help it. They made a mistake yet will not admit it, and I pay the penalty. I won't be paying them a penny more and vow never to have sky again!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (well maybe never again lolol)

Tip:
When phoning Sky, always phone after 10pm.
Then ask to speak to the cleaner.
She knows more.

Perhaps you could write them a letter instead of calling them, as you don't seem to be able to deal with the frustrations of telephone conversations too well. And why take it out on the employee? It is not personally their fault that something has gone wrong. What is the reason they give for you owing £250?

Funny, but of course you should actually state that you will be taking them to the small claims court. Mentioning your intention is a recommended prerequisite for actually doing so.

Aren't employees not employed to resolve these kind of issues? What happened to the customer always being right?
The trouble with such employees is they have no initative, and in some cases, no common sense. They just read from a rule book and are incapable of taking each individual case on its own merit.
