Afternoon all, I'm going to Vegas in three weeks for the first time. Can anyone give advice on the best places to play NLHE? I've looked at this site but it's a bit confusing. http://www.allvegaspoker.com/tournaments.phpI'm hopng to play tourneys and SnG's if possible. However maybe $1/$2 at a pinch. I'm staying at the MGM in the south strip Any help or advice would be appreciated Thanks

Depends on what your looking for from your game, personally I have had the most joy at Ballys, small cardroom on the casino floor, excellent waitress service and soft opposition. They run a few different games which attracts novices who have seen poker on Telly and love calling an allin with rag. You can make a lot of money with the 2-4 and 3-6 limit (honest everyonewants to see the flop). The main event is the $1-2 $200 NLHE max buyin, best time of day is after 3:00 am when your wide awake and the other players are generally pretty drunk. If you want to play in class venues with frankly stronger opposition: - MGM is fantastic
- Caesars Palace - nicest place IMO
- Wynn is staggering - check out the Ferrari garage!
Most of all have fun, a visit downtown to the horseshoe is also a must they do some low buyin tourneys, just to to say you've been there.

I played $1/$2 NL at Caesar's Palace when I was there in April/May. I have to say I thought the standard was poor. I'm a total fish at cash, but I still managed to turn a profit.

I wouldn't bother with the imperial palace for games, there are other better places. Venetian, MGM, Bellagio and wynn are all pretty good and plenty of fish present. Good comps at venetian ($2 per hour) and if you play regularly you will get free food which is top quality, don't order from the poker menu ask for the Grand Cafe menu.

For $1 $2 - get to the Orleans!! Full of locals that play like rocks all day long - unless you tilt them enough that is, then its easy pickings

11am tourneys at Harrahs (next door to Imperial Palace) are good value for $40. Nice card room too. If you get busted early in tourny, the Imperial have a 1pm tourny most days so its not too far to walk!
