Methinks Grandad Tikay is regretting his post now.

"....but my understanding is that Robert was more angry over the position of the mods on this one, no?..."

I don't accept that for one moment.

As I stated earlier (whilst barking up completely the wrong tree), yes, Robert was cross with myself, & several others,. because he thought we should have warned him of the "high-risk" shall we say of the arrangement. But as we explained, & he accepted, it was our - or at least my - assumption that eveyone knew that - how could they not, it was common knowlerdge? So it was just a misunderstanding. He never knew, but I assumed, as most would, that he did know.

I know nothing of the other matters you mention. But I do know that Robert was incredibly angry that he'd been suckered in a staking exercise, more angry than I've ever seen him. He told me he would do everything in his power, stop at nothing, to get justice.

Everyone has views on this, & peeps have fallen out about it. But the root cause is what people should concentrate on. It was an unwise investment, but that's no excuse for what happened.

Lol, sort of, yes, I accidentally opened a can of worms. My bad, end of, I can't change that now.

You gotta love Bumped Threads though, eh?

I never knew either, but i'll chalk that down to being a little naive.  tbh I was surprised when I got paid back, profit 'n all.

It seems ironic that Dave wanted to pay him but couldn't because he wasn't on blonde and no one could contact him to tell him he needed to do something.

Would have been nice for Dave to pay when he won big recently though, sigh.

Just a bit.

An even greater irony is that Robert knew - I told him personally, verbally & in writing, that he WOULD get his money back, 100%. It was just about tiiming, & the deception. The guys always honours his debts afaik - eventually.

No point mate. It's boring. You wouldn't be interested.

There's a bumped burger thread in the lounge that's far more entertaining if you're stuck for something to do.

Robert HM is annoyed at the mods 'handling' in one way or another of the Penly staking thing.

Before anyone but myself and Mr HM know about Robert asks Penly to buy him out of his share.

Dave tells me this and I tell him he's not to pay anyone before anyone else, particularly Robert.

Robert has been absent from blonde for some months.

When I first thought of playing poker for a living someone told me "Don't trust anyone, 99% of poker players are scumbags"

Aassuming what Cos posted is true, this is second time within a week that someone I would have trusted implicitly has done something totally unethical and shady.

I really am shocked and disappointed with Robert.

don't think this is especially true, though I can't speak for conversations he may have had with other mods. He was more annoyed by the manner the staking arrangement went South.

Lol Cos.

He asked for cliffs from this thread not from something completely different.

Although tbf, It says something about the poker world that I'm more surpirsed at Robert's behaviour than Dave's (which ethically was far worse obviously).
