In theory who would be interested in playing a £1000 + £100 NLHE tournament with the £100 going to Game for Life. The event would be held in a European casino and every endeavour would be made to minimise clashes with other events. If possible we would like to implement a 2 hour clock. Sats would be run both online and live. It is hoped that given recent preceedents that this event would be a european ranking event.

Just need a list of possibles / probables.

Yes please, I expect to restrict myself to Sats though, you may be able to run a couple or more.

Sounds like a great idea to me Davey. Certain casino groups will be a bit reluctant to give it a go tho due to the charity being connected to children (something to do with it being un-PC to support children through gambling) but i'm sure somewhere would happily accomidate this, I'll do a bit of digging with my contacts ( YOGI lol) and if i ever get back into A cardroom i'd love to be involved

Thanks Bluewolf but the casino is already decided. A fair amount of the prep has already been done, just looking for an indication of how well it will be received by the players.

Thanks dik9

I would love to hold events like this in casino's in the UK, however................ thats's right you've guessed it, the Gaming Laws would not allow it. The max reg fee that can be charged is 10% up to £50. Even then we are then asking for the casino to 'handover' the whole of the £50 in return for the drop at the cash games and the 'added' action at the table games.

If any UK casino would like to get something on (and I know virtually every cardroom manager / supervisor would love to) please contact me. You can PM, email: davey.newth@game4life.org or call me 07985424036.

Sorry Richard

At this time I am afraid I am not able to answer that question. What I can say is that the venue in question does not yet have a reputation for poker and they will be bringing in one of the top TD's in Europe to officiate.
