Guess the hands now.

This is Katja Thater vs Stuart Fox:

Stuart raises from the cutoff to 900. Katja calls from the small blind.

Flop:

Katja checks, Stuart bets 1250, Katja raises to 3500, Stuart calls.

Turn:

Both players check.

River:

Katja bets 3k, Stuart moves all-in for about 10k. Katja folds.

Paul Roper doubles through Jim Reid. A-K-T board, Jim held A-T but Paul had Q-J.

Micky Wernick and Roberto Romanello are both out due to the curse of the ladies.

Micky's short stack ran Queens into Jonny Lodden's Kings.

Roberto lost a huge 40k pot with Queens to Ace King on the river after all the chips went in preflop.

Roberto Romanello is OUT.

I felt a tug at my shirt and as I turned round I was met by Martyn Cavanagh who had risen from his table to lure my attention towards the neighbouring table, one in which held the dulcit tones of one Roberto Romanello, a player who many will know isn't the meekest when it comes to table talk. And he was at it again, this time giving his opponent a full tasting of Welsh verbal.

The decision was down to Mateyboy in the small blind, and whilst Romanello adopted the unorthodox stance pictured below, it was obvious to me that he'd made the initial raise which was met by a re-raise from Mateyboy in the small blind. Romanello must have moved over the top to leave us in the position I, and all the viewers that were now buzzing around the table, were witnessing.

It appeared as though Mateyboy was close to folding, but the more Romanello talked the more he hesitated.

"It's a lot of money"
"I know you're going to fold, just throw them"
"You've been playing agressive, I can't let you keep re-raising"
"I know you don't have a pair, let me check to see if I have one"

... were just a few of the numerous comments flung Mateyboy's way.

After a while, and boy was it a while, Mateyboy caved in and opted for a call, clearly influenced, in my humble opinion, by the trash talk of the Welshman.

As Mateyboy revealed his A-K unsuited, Romanello was satisfied but clearly disappointed not to have his man dominated. His Queens only serving to provide him with a coinflip.

With a grit determination on his face, Roberto watched in anticipation as the dealer dealt out the 7-6-3 Flop.

9 on the Turn and it was looking good for Romanello until the Poker God's jumped down from the heavens only to slap the Welshman across the face with a wet kipper. An Ace on the River and Romanello was sent packing, gutted but maintaining his composure enought to congratualte his opponent and wish the table good luck.

A big pot escapes the Welsh contingent, but only just...

The very last hand of the night goes to Dewi James, who finds ACES and talks Raymond O’Mahoney into calling his all-in preflop bet of 15k.  “If I had AQ, I’d call!” says Dewi.  Raymond calls holding pocket 66’s.
