Chip leader is most definitely this guy now - over 100k after two large stacks got it all in preflop rather abruptly.  Raise from Ah, re-raise all-in for the full 50k (from the ); call.

King on the turn.

Big stack for this gentleman, now positioned two to the left of Flushy.

The rail for the Other Guy.

Bad news for the multitude of Flushy Fans out there -

Chip stack has dwindled to under 15k after he limped in the small blind with .  Check from the big blind.

Flop:     Of course, opponent Matey had ...

That guy who comes on the loudspeaker at Grosvenors to tell you what's up with the tournament has just told everyone in that creepily calming voice, "The blinds are now 600, 1,200."  It's the kind of voice you get told you are crazy and they're not all out to get you in.

Anyway, we're looking at one more level, tops before close of Day One.

I'd like to apologise on behalf of Vodafone Regional Operations for the sporadic nature of the updates over here - I promise there would have been much more of the same had it all been easier.  Still going to try to keep up with tomorrow - looking for a Prew 1st and Flushy 2nd (or vice versa).

Flushy is OUT - Finally ran AQ into Aces... but it was the previous two hands which did the real damage.

Incidentally, I know someone was asking about Alex Martin...well, he was Big Blind Sevens Matey in that other hand.  Now sitting comfortably on around 40k.

Michael Greco is pretty short stacked (under 10k) and not in the best of moods after losing this pot:
He was in the small blind, and I saw him call the button's 4k on a board of .
River:     check-check.

The button reveals the (winning) , and a bit of bitter muttering follows, including the words, "lucky," and "f***."

A few more chip counts, now that it looks like the action may be gently grinding to a halt in preparation for the pause between days (otherwise known as the poker nap):

Steve Bovis      58,000
Michael Greco    7,500
Ryan Fronda     16,000
Vu Nguyen       12,700
Richard Prew    36,000
Tony Adderley   25,000
Jeff Rogers       58,000

Jane just spotted Michael Greco doing a last-minute-elimination sprint from the card room, so can't ask him what happened...

But that means that they're down to 19 and that will most likely be the number returning to play tomorrow, as there are only seven minutes remaining in the final level.

With just two minutes to go, it's safe to say that This Is The End of today.  While I balance the need for sleep with the desire to procure full chip counts, here's a picture of Tighty, doing his best to pretend he doesn't want his picture taken.

STOP PRESS

Addressing mainly my own echo at this unsociable time of night on a Sunday, I would like to Update the End of Play time to one hour from now.

For much of today I have been thinking it's Saturday, you know, Main Event and all.  So I was sure they had to kick us all out by 4am.  But no - one more level is being played, and then a return tomorrow at 2:30pm, as far as I know from the advertising leaflet.

Down to two tables now.   <Break>

Thank you for that, Wardonkey.  I've been having a chat with Flushy who's extolling the virtues of the $20 rebuy 8 min blinds tournaments, as opposed to these things with a decent structure.  If he was thinking about having a go on this laptop, it would be the worst idea since CheeseWiz.

Signs of tiring from the last 17 now - going to go get some photos of those who may have escaped earlier photography.  Including the new Chip Leader.
