just seen this hand on TV. You find KK utg, you raise 2x the bb. Button doubles your raise. You call. Flop comes . you check. Button raises half the pot. What would you do?

Sometimes you have to suffer a little bit in your youth to motivate yourself to succeed in later life. Do you think if Bill Gates got laid in high school, do you think there'd be a Microsoft? Of course not.

He lays the f**ker down.
Genius.
What can he be up against?
AA quite possible considering the re raise pre flop KK not likely AK possible but it takes some balls to re raise the chip leader who raised utg, in the very early stages with AK AQ he couldn't re raise with that pre flop QQ again very possible considering re raise pre flop.

he had QQ.
i would have been looking for the coat rack as well.
I don't think i have ever laid down KK in a position like that, you can be good but being great is something else.

re-raise pre flop and dont put yourself in a silly out of position flop game.

great laydown
do you lot tend to re-raise with QQ in response to an early position raise in the early stages?
I only ask because I did last night, the early player re-raises, and then it gets tough...........
I called
rag flop, he bets, I raise, he re-raises.......blah blah blah
He had KK

If there was an early raise and I am holding QQ I would re-raise to get a feel for if I am ahead or not. If the first player then comes over the top again you can be pretty sure that your facing AK, KK or AK or a nutter !!!
And once you have more of an idea of what you are facing you can fold or fish .............
