I'm interested in anyone's opinions on the flop and turn. I usually reraise preflop but i don't think it's bad to just call occasionally.

I'm fine with the flat call pre-flop. I do that myself aswell...this way he will still lead out on the flop.

On the flop I would probably have reraised him though..just to find out where I am.

I don't understand the all in reraise..that's a play i would never make on a board like that in a cash game..then again i suck at cash games...I just don't like sticking all my chips in the middle in a situation like this.

Flop:

this is ok..whats your plan if the flop is 248? It is ok to just call occasionally, as long as its the minority of the time. You give up too much equity for the sake of "deception", when a good % of your opponents aren't paying much attention anyways.

Turn:

I dont like this move with that turn-card. It gets too many aces folding. If it was a 6 instead of a Q, id like it much more. I'd just call the turn and see what happens on the river, you can represent other hands (busted draws) that will be more persuasive in trying to get the rag aces to call. As it stands, I dont know how often you are gonna get called by a hand that you want calling. He is showing a lot of determination.

I like the flop call  . The guy has made a standard pf raise UTG, then fired the pot on the flop. With top two pair does he really bet that hard on the flop. I don't think so. Would he raise UTG with K-Q? Unlikely methinks. I think the turn card is great for you, I call there too. The only thing that would worry me is if he puts you in on the river. I would have to wonder why he isn't worried about me having the Q.

I don't mind the odd call with AK preflop - keeps them on their toes.

Not sure what hand you're putting him on with the all-in push though?  You beat any Ax (other than the unlikely AQ), but you're behind to any Q or 66 - and of course AA.  Not knowing how he plays it's difficult to know what his range of hands is - but I'm not sure I'd be too keen pushing with AK here - although you're certainly giving him a decison if he doesn't have a queen.

I'm glad I posted this hand. It worked out great cos he called with AJ so there's a tendency for me to think whoopy do I'm such a clever clogs when really I've played it wrong and got lucky.

My thought process on the turn was, has this guy got a Queen? dunno. Am I gonna call an all in on the river, prob, so I might as well push. Of course as you guys have said what I'm doing here is getting worse hands to fold which is dumb. If I call and a 3rd heart comes on the river we're calling an all in and pushing if checked to right?

I think I would call the c-bet and on a blank turn card fold to a bet or bet if he checks. If an A or a K turns then I bet or raise. A lot of people seem to be min raising the flop these days in this situation. It seemed to be that a flop minraise was usually a set or some other strong hand but now people do it as a bluff.
