WOW..nice going! We spent 150k on a 2bedroom place (admittedly very large but still)...that sounds like a great deal.

have fun with the place....hope you have good times there.

Thanks mate.

It probably isn't everyones cup of tea location wise (town doesn't have the best of reputations) - but is in a nice quiet street and is perfect for my little one, has a good sized fenced garden. Will need some work done withstandard stuff - carpets, etc but overall is in good nick.

So chuffed with it, even my missus's dad who finds fault with everything (he owns a big business and is very hard to please but knows his stuff) has even said its a great buy.

reputations of area's don't mean anything..but it's a good way of getting a cheap house Smiley

Most repuations are build on something that happened 10 or 20 years ago..most neighbourhoods have completely changed since then and those area's now tend to be completely redone..people will still not pay a lot of money for a house on those areas because the "reputation is bad"  in a couple of years everyone will realise this is bollox and the value of your house will skyrocket..them's the way the housing market works.

Have fun with redecorating,.....have you tried to explain to the missus that it takes at least three months to get it  all sorted? I told mine and it's only been 4 weeks and she's going nuts...it's the biggest challenge of buying a house...keep the missus sane Smiley

We made an offer which was accepted 2 weeks ago, but were just waiting for the provisional acceptance of the mortgage to be confirmed as 100% accepted and agreed. This has now been done.

They have already moved out, and we are chain free so the solicitors have advised us it could all be done and moved in within 4 weeks from now. That would be nice

The other bonus about the estate is no stamp duty is paid. Stupid really. When the houses were built the area was originally council owned but they got bought out and it went private. The council had stated the area back in the 70's was classed as impoverished, basically a poor area. Obviously that has changed now but the rules still apply from the original building contracts. No stamp duty for anyone!!!

Big bonus for home buyers

Got 4 bedrooms, only need 2 lolol

One is gonna be a office with obvious Poker set up and Sky Tv. Bit of a chill out room. The other is hopefully gonna be a Poker room with a decent table-

obviously this is subject to change when I finally pluck up the courage to tell the missus. lololol

A 4 bedroom house down here would be at least 200k, even more. Studio flats cost about 100k, and then it goes up and up. A standard 3 bedroom semi costs around 185k... way too expensive for my liking!

Enjoy your house, I'm sure you will be very happy there. Smiley It's nice that you don't have to wait long to get in there, you can start decorating and making it your home all in time for christmas with your family!

£129k??? Is that all...where I'm moving to a 4 bedroom house will set me back about £100-110k and i'm currently selling my house for £80k and its only got 2 bedrooms...here's the best part - the investors who are buying my house want me out by the end of this year and the new house that i was buying was snapped up by an investor so I now need to find another house, get the survey and move all in the space of 6 weeks otherwise i'll be homeless  Roll Eyes albeit a very rich homeless guy  Grin

i'll be the only one on the park bench drinking champagne instead of diamond white
