Just got back to my room after making the final of this rinky dink tournament in Amsterdam.

Many thanks for all the messages of support and good wishes which have been passed on by your intrepid updaters. There aren't many friendly faces left here and it feels good to know at least a few people are rooting for me.

Anyway, onto the moral dilemma.

As I was supping the last pint of the day, a thought struck me.

I have swapped out quite a few 2 and 3%'s in this comp.

Holland Casinos are giving all the the final tablists a free seat for the WSOP next year. Very kind of them too. Do you think if I swapped 2% with someone in this tournament they own 2% of me in Vegas? And if they do is a cash eqivalent an acceptable reward?

Night night.

Well done on the final table Keith, by the sound of the live update it was a tough old time getting there!

Moral Dilema
The 2 or 3 percent is part of the prize that includes the WSOP seat IMHO. I don't think you are obliged to honour that part of it though.

Good luck on the final table!

Imo you agreed to swap 2-3% of the tournament winnings, if you did that and won a wsop event you wouldnt chop up the added extra wsop bracelet would you? Wink
Added extras dont count.

I dont believe the % on this, counts for wsop, I understand your problem though. Good Luck and just make sure that you get your m8 3% of the 1st prize.

Well it depends if you knew beforehand (when you were giving away %), that part of the prize will be a wsop ticket.  If you knew that you should have clarified with your partners that the % is only for the monetary prize and the ticket is your bonus that it would not be included in the pay out of the shares.  If you did not do it, the other side may claim that the % was for the prize of your winnings and the wsop is part oft he prize.

With the sums of money involdved in the pay outs in a tournaments, I think it should become a good habit to clarify the terms and conditions of the shares in the pay outs of % in the the tourneys.

Personally I assume that if a swap of mine comes off, and I am in receipt of funds via a swapper making cash, then added extras are not a part of it.

I understand your concern though.

Yes, I would think a monetary equivalent is a nice compromise.

Agreed - The decision will be whole lot easier if you win.

Get it won Keith - best of luck.

GL Keith, if i swapped a % out there then i think it doesn't count any wsop lark. If i sold a % to someone then i think it should

yeah I'd agree with this. A swap is just for the tourney you're playing.

keith your a decent sort so I am sure you will do the right thing. Although %s are swapped usually between mates they can cause problems ( I know of several fallings out in the last year over %s). If I have swapped a % with someone I would give them the said % in everything I won (including the seat) and would hope for the same in return. I am sure non of your swaps (matt jules etc) will mind either way and are just happy to see you back where you belong at the final table. Don't worry about it and sort it later- decent bunch of guys you've swapped with and they will go with whatever you feel ( A cash "buyout" of your % in the wsop would be fine I'm sure). Maybe as a compromise you could say if you finished top 4 (ie big payday and happy days) you would givem all a "bonus" on their % instead of a peice of you in the series (would make you feel at ease with yourself rather than being in a dilema). If you finished 5th to 9th they would just get their normal cash %? just a thought anyway- oh and gl today mate, you are due sir.
