Paul King is currently on 4.7k.

He pointed down at the table and said, "I'll be left with that just that soon" to which I replied, "Do you mean the rebuy ticket or the Walsall card protector?"

Roberto Romanello is out. He's rather dejected at the moment, muttering to himself. Something to do with a bad beat.

Some Welsh news now courtesy of blondeite Ariston, who is assisting me with the odd story here and there (please thank him at the end if you can remember)

And his first scoop is, well, a scoop.

Roberto Romanello is OUT!

Down to 4k, his 600 pre-flop raise was raised all-in for 16k by Mateyboy. Convinced he had a small pair, Roberto called for his remaining chips only to find he was slightly dominated against Pocket Rockets.

No help and Roberto is a gonna.

"There's always one muppet who calls 'em (referring to himself)", commented a demoralised Roberto.

The first man out of the comp was Chris Gavriel.

As an aside Jen has doubled up to 72k over in Ireland

The very last hand of the night goes to Dewi James, who finds ACES and talks Raymond O’Mahoney into calling his all-in preflop bet of 15k.  “If I had AQ, I’d call!” says Dewi.  Raymond calls holding pocket 66’s.

Blackppolain Dave Mayall, who Ariston refers to as 'Nice Dave', is busy cracking Aces today.

First he took down Simon Zach with Jacks v Aces on a K-K-x-J-x board, and then Nick Slade (7-7) and Mick Flecther (A-A) with 2-2 on a 2-4-6 Flop.

Even so, he's still on around 10k (with his ticket too of course), but this was maninly due to a combination of not having too many chips when he bust the Aces and being renowned as one of the tighter players at the table.

"He bets out," commented Nick. "And you just pass if Nice Dave does that" added Ariston.

Steve 'Womble' Walmsley doubled up during the first level with 2-4 on a 2-4-T Flop.

He then took another nice pot with on an all club flop.

As a result, the Tory Boy is on over 20k.

Julian 'Golden Yoyo Balls' has obviosuly shined up his spheres tonights and made a wish as he's managed to flop both a straight and quads (not at the same time though).

He didn't get paid too much, but he's still managed to jump up to around 10.5k with his rebuy ticket still in tact.

Ali Mallu is OUT, so not Malluing today.

The first lot went to Martyn Cavanagh when Ali raised it up with the speculative hand of J-5. The flop came 5-5-3, but the Welsh lad was sitting pretty with Pocket Threes.

Finally, Ali Mallu exited the comp when he grew too attached to a flush draw. Mark Lowe (A-K) raised it up and received three callers, two of whom were Sid Harris (Ad-9d) and Ali (5d-2d). Flop came Kd-Jd-Qc, Sid bet, Alli called, Mark re-raised and both players called. All the money then went in on the raggy Turn, but Ali was drawing dead and was forced to exit stage (well, casino) left.

Just met Jamie Fisher for only the second time, boy, this lad's a card.

He was telling me about some of his gambling antics this weekend, including a manic roulette session with Mad Turk. Can you picture that?

He also told me that he called Con Cronin in cash game with Ten high (Con had Queen high) before adding, "I knew he was bluffing". If there's anyone who takes as much fun out of the game as possible, then it's this cheery chap.

In this comp he's currently on 18k, although his rebuy ticket has mysteriously disappeared.

Just having a quick butchers around the arena, the following seem to be doing very nicely indeed.

Zippy Aslam -- 12,000 (+ticket)
JP Kelly -- 24k (-ticket)
Ash Pervais -- 20k (+ticket)
Stu Rutter -- 27k (-ticket)
Julian Thew -- 21k (+ticket)

Julian 'Golden Yoyo Balls' Thew destroyed Ian Herbert when he flopped yet another monster, this time a full house with 5-3 on a Flop of 5-3-3. Of course, the Welshman only had A-3 and was virtually obliterated.

Soon after, Herbert shoved his remaining few thousand in with Q-Q, but was outdrawn by A-Q - Ace on Flop.

Bad day at the office then.

The blinds are currently at 50-100, and are due to rise to 100/200 in 8 minutes. There is no 75/150 level, but I guess that is to be expected when you can start with 13k in chips.

According to the board, there are 131 players remaining with an average stack of 13,600/

The total prize pool is 137,000, which will make first place somewhere around the 50-55k mark.
