Right folks when playing the team event last night I never picked up many monsters but managed to keep myself above average by making a few steals and hitting a few flop when in the blinds.  As time went on there where only two players eliminated from my table and it was getting ready to turn into a crapshoot blinds are 300/600 and I am under the gun and find Ah this is genuineley the best hand I have picked up.  So I decide to raise to up to 2100 leaving 5k behind it folds round to BB, who re-raises all in for another 2.2 k, next player out scores  - 1 point for the team.

The villain in this scenario is  Jim Paterson a a regular at CinCins who a few blondes will have played with, I respect Jim's game so I don't think he would have re-raised me with nufin, so I went into thhe think tank and dwelled for quite a bit generally this should be an easy fold, but there was also a nagging doubt that I might actually have two live cards.

I put him on a range os 99 - QQ possibly AK.  The fact that this was the best hand I had picked up was also urging me to call.

Eventually i passed,

Opinions on how the hand played out and what Jim's holding may have been?

I personally wouldnt have raised in that situation cause i was next to act, it was a crapshoot and if u werent ready to ship them all in then you have problems! then again the fact that Jim was a short stack at that moment would actually make me consider calling. Plus if i remember rightly you had nothing shy of 7k at the point when the hand took place!

Given that its jim I would have pushed it in, Jim has a habit of talking himself out of a call even when he must make it.

Bad pass, you could atleast call, you still have enough to comeback from.

Just an opinion

Ahh so he was, I still would have called mate, chances are you are racing here, The other thing to note is that Jim is prone to tilt heavily when he gets no catds or he has been outplayed, He is one of the guys I show bluffs to only because it rattles him.

Still a call for me.

Well as I said I passed and we played out the board I would have rivered the Ace and taken the pot and jim out the event.

Instead I let him off the hook and he bingoed me a few hands later when he called my all in with K 6 off against my KQ suited only for him to river a gutshot straight ohhhh it still hurts!

NB: Jim showed QQ

Going on the curious range you suggested: (no AA or KK)

           equity (%)     win (%)   tie (%)
Hand  1:   63.2747 %     62.29%    00.98%      { QQ-99, AKs, AKo }
Hand  2:   36.7253 %     35.74%    00.98%      { AhJh }
