I think you played the hand really well, especially the river push. Your hand is really well disguised, you're definitely ahead and you will be called very often.

I agree that the river push is excellent, but the hand did not play well. Limping in ep with AA was a good move if we can expect a raise around the back. However the only reason he was allowed to collect a nice pot was because the other player misplayed his hand badly and allowed the AA to improve enough and cheaply enough to again be ahead. The key can be laying AA post flop to strength if needed (it is just one pair), but that wasn't an option here, as the post flop strength of his opponent was not demonstrated.

It was fairly standard that he had an overpair to the board and if you know a players likely holdings, then your decision on every street should be simple.

Nice pot though Wink

In defense of the Q9 call, if he blindly called against any person in this spot 100% of the time, it would probably be +ev

However, the flop play still bothers me.... instead of the board pairing on the turn, lets say its a blank like another low card instead, then what do you do with AA in my spot?

Keep the pot small if you are allowed to.

The easiest way to keep it small, strangely, might be to lead with a bet or a small raise if your oppo leads out and then check the river if its checked to you. You are controlling the pot still then. If he checks the turn and you check behind him, then he may make an uncallable bet on the river and if teh board doesn't improve all you have is still one pair.

I also disagree about the +ev for blindly calling there. Imo you could only have a big hand 90% of the time or complete air 10% and not much else. He should have passed pre, he should have shown strength when ahead on the flop and he should have known that he was beat thereafter. I think he played every street badly.
