is your ip address private?

Your IP address won't change no matter how often you change your username, if you opened a new account on here they would still know it was you.

i was a new member on the site in question which i have not said which one ,,
NEW MEMBER
NEW EMAIL
NEW USER NAME
NEW ADDRESS
BUT STILLthis site said who i was i just dont know how this is possible unless someone from here checked my ip address and gave it to the other site who then put 2+2 together and come up with it being the same person.i dunno i might be wrong but its a bit fishy,a real good friend of mine who is 5-it hot on computers said this is only possible if someone gave my ip address to the other site....i just wanted conformation from this site if this is possible thanks...

James, as I understand it, if you used the same computer, it would automaticaly expose your IP to the other site, no matter what email or alias you use.

IP Address's can be obtained VERY easily, don't be too hasty to accuse someone of "giving" your IP address away.

funny that you just come off the site that has exposed my ip ,if they can be obtained very easy why are they hidden?

If you havent noticed Sofa, myself and Paul havent said anything for or against P4C , because we really dont know anything either way  conspiracy theories flying around left right and centre !!

James, also your friend who is 5hit hot in computers, cant be that hot if he/she says it is almost impossible to get someone's ip address.

I could post a link on here of several ways to obtain someone's ip address, but I feel it would be against BLONDE's T & C's so I wont - but there are MANY MANY ways to gain someone's IP address VERY easily AND without them knowing!!

then 5 minutes later it was wiped of so now you all know the facts

What about peer guardian?  does that not hide your ip address?

No. Peer Guardian only prevents you from making connections with known potentially hostile IP addresses on a pre-determined blocklist.

Your IP address is always displayed to any Internet server you make a direct connection. The only way to hide it from a particular node is to go through a proxy.  The proxy server you are using would still have to see your IP though.

i know they know its me now,bloody hell when i posted the other day it was all capitals and no signs of signature,,i made it look so not tlike me as i didnt want them to know it was me yet i was answered by the owner of the site as SOFA----KING surley someone gave her my ip address from this site theat matched my ip on their site then she called me sofa----king.please,please,please can anyone see my point?

be serious m8 i dont think this was a lucky guess,i really think a mod from here has given my ip address to the other site to see if it was me and the answer that they gave on the other site was not thought through enough to know i am not stupid to know that this is the only way possible for them to know it was me ....
