liverpool are so jimxed in cup draws    we get arsenal in both domestic cup comps and barca in the champions league

meanwhile chelsea and man utd get the easiest draws possible

Very harsh indeed.

Happy enough with our draw although current form doesn't really matter as it's 10/11 weeks away.

bugger - was hoping we'd get Celtic, a virtual bye into the quarter finals.

Ho hum, we always have to do it the hard way!!

2005.  Juve - chavski - AC Milan.  Hardly the easiest ties.  If you want to win, you have to beat the best.

If the players aren't up for Barca, then they shouldn't be playing.  We get to play at the Nou Camp first as well, and then bring them back to fortress Anfield - hopefully after taking something from the first leg.

I fancy us to go all the way again this year, especially with master tactician Benitez (especially in europe). We play a lot better in Europe and i dont think Barca will be looking forward to playing us either. Like kinobshi said you gotta beat the best! And we dont have Traore anymore to fcuk up.

should be a decent game actually. I expect us to win at home..and then you'd have to score 2 or something against us...and as long as ALex and Gomez are fit that won't be easy for you Smiley

What a draw.

I've already heard one Barca player he's not afraid of coming to Anfield though.... reminds me of a certain blue before the Champions League Semi-Final 2 years ago.... LOL!

Another easy draw for Arsenal - anyone remember the last hard team they drew?

Fair play to Chelsea for the easy draw - they always seem to get the hardest sides early on. Maybe it's their year?

Man U's game is tougher than it looks. Lille outplayed in the group stages last year although this is a much improved Man U team in fairness.

Celtic's draw may be the toughest IMO - other than Liverpool of course!

it's quite funny how everyone considers PSV to be an easy draw. They did make it to the semi's two years ago and were unlucky not to go through (goals conceded in the final minute in both games with AC Milan) and they have solidly progressed through to the final stages the past few years.

Good points but the best players from that team have gone.

Van Bommel

Park

Ooijer

Liverpool beat them easily at home and should have won comfortably away too but it stayed goalless.

yeah that's true...but we have Alex (giant of a defender..fantastic by a mile the best player in Holland right now...shame he's Brazilian and shame he'll be gone next season)
Gomez fantastic goalie...another brazilian and probably also gone next season Sad

Philip Cocu. Still a superb midfielder.

Farfan...very good striker..and probably gone next season

Kone, again a great striker..and again won't stay long.

Man, it sucks supporting a club from Holland, if we had the same money as English teams we wouldn't always have to sell them Sad

At this stage last year we drew Real Madrid, followed by AC MIlan in the quarter-finals.

Wake up and smell the coffee Aaron, although I don't think it would make any difference when you're wearing red

PS Get my £20 ready

Real Madrid were defensively shocking last year before Emerson and Cannavaro signed! Milan were knocked out by Barca werent they?

I do have your £20 ready though! LOL! No argument there!
